SLOW COOKER PARTY POTATOES



Slow Cooker Party Potatoes image

This recipe is an easy side dish made from thawed hashbrown potatoes. After 5 hours in the slow cooker a delicious potato casserole is made.

30 oz. shredded hashbrown potatoes, (thawed)
8 oz. shredded cheddar, (divided)
16 oz. sour cream
10.5 oz. cream of chicken soup
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1/4 tsp. onion powder
1/2 tsp. dried thyme
1 bunch green onions, (sliced and divided)

Steps:

  • In a large bowl combine all the ingredients except a half cup of cheese and a few tablespoons of the green onion.
  • Spray the slow cooker with non-stick spray. Add the potato mixture to the slow cooker and flatten out. Add the remaining cheese and place lid on slow cooker.
  • Cover and cook on low for 5 hours without opening the lid during the cooking time.
  • Sprinkle with the leftover green onions and serve!

1/2 cup onion (finely diced)
2 cups cheddar cheese shredded (divided)

Steps:

  • Grease bottom of slow cooker with cooking spray. Put all ingredients in EXCEPT 1 cup of the cheese. Mix together, cover, and cook on HIGH for 3-4 hours or LOW for 5-6 (mix halfway) until potatoes are tender.
  • Turn off, remove lid, sprinkle on remaining cheese and cover for 10 minutes until cheese is melted.

Steps:

  • Thaw potatoes. Melt butter in large bowl, then add in sour cream, cheddar cheese, cream of chicken soup, butter, salt, pepper, and onion. Mix well. Stir in potatoes. Spray crockpot with nonstick cooking spray. Pour potato mixture into crockpot. Heat on low for 4 to 6 hours, stirring occasionally.

Steps:

  • Combine hash browns, cream of chicken, sour cream, 1.5 cups of cheese, cheddar cheese soup, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder in your slow cooker.
  • Place the lid on and cook on high for 2.5 hours or low for about 4-5 hours.
  • About 30 minutes before serving, mix well and add in remaining 1.5 cups of cheese.
