Steps:
- If you have a removable stove top slow cooker insert, heat the insert over medium high heat. Add 3 tablespoons vegetable oil. When oil is hot, sear brisket on both sides until browned.
- Remove to a plate and add sliced onions. Cook onions for about 3 minutes, stirring often. Add brisket back into the pot and nestle on top of onions.
- Pour the bbq sauce over the brisket. Pour in cola. Use just enough to come up halfway on the brisket.
- Slow cook 8 hours or until brisket is fork tender.
- When the meat is done, remove to a large cutting board and slice against the grain, then shred.
- Keep the shredded meat moist and flavorful by adding about a cup of the cooking liquid. This will also serve as some gravy for the mashed potatoes.
- Serve over mashed potatoes or as a sandwich on a Kaiser bun or as sliders on slider buns.

Steps:
- In a bowl, combine the cola, Worcestershire sauce, vinegar, garlic, beef bouillon granules, dry mustard powder, chili powder, and cayenne pepper. Mix well to combine. Set aside 1/2 cup of the mixture for the sauce. Place the onions in the bottom of the crock pot. Cut the meat to fit the crock pot if necessary and place the meat on top of the onions. Pour the cola mixture over the meat. Cover and cook on low heat for 10 hours or on high heat for 5 hours, or until the meat is tender (cook time may vary by crock pot). For the sauce, combine the reserved cola mixture, ketchup, and butter in a saucepan. Heat over medium heat until it simmers, stirring occasionally. Remove from the heat and let cool. Remove the meat from the crock pot and shred with two forks. Return the meat to the crock pot if not serving immediately. Serve the shredded beef on buns or warmed tortillas with the sauce, as desired.

Steps:
- Oven Instructions: Preheat oven to 325°F. Pat the brisket dry with paper towels, if desired, to remove any moisture. Place it in a nonreactive roasting pan or a glass baking dish just large enough to fit the brisket. Mix Coke, chili sauce and dried onion soup mix in a bowl and pour it over the brisket. Cover the baking dish or roasting pan tightly with aluminum foil. Bake the brisket until tender, about 30 minutes per pound. Transfer brisket to a cutting board and let it rest for at least 10 minutes. Meanwhile, skim the fat from the surface of the pan juices and discard. Pour the defatted pan juices into a gravy boat or, if a thicker consistency is desired, pour the juices into a saucepan and simmer until reduced slightly. Trim any visible fat from the brisket, then thinly slice it against the grain. Pile the slices on a platter and pass the warm pan juices on the side. Slow Cooker Instructions: This four-ingredient recipe just got even simpler. Place the brisket in the slow cooker. Combine the remaining ingredients and pour over the brisket. Cook on low for 9 hours. Transfer the meat to a cutting board to rest. Skim any fat from the surface of the sauce. If a thicker sauce is desired, pour the sauce into a saucepan and simmer until reduced to the desired consistency. Slice or shred the brisket and serve with the sauce.

Steps:
- In a small bowl, combine the soup mix, sugar, salt, and pepper. Sprinkle the mixture over both sides of the brisket and rub it into the meat.
- Place the meat, fat cap side down, into a 6 to 8-quart slow cooker. Place the thyme sprigs, garlic, and bay leaves on top of brisket. Add the carrots, potatoes, celery, and onion over top.
- In a liquid measuring cup, whisk together the stock, Worchestershire sauce and cornstarch until the cornstarch is fully dissolved. Pour the liquid into the slow cooker. Cover and cook on high for 5-6 hours, or low for 8 hours until the brisket is tender to slice, but not falling apart.
- Remove the brisket from the slow cooker and transfer to a cutting board, fat cap side up. Remove and discard the thyme sprigs and bay leaves. Thinly slice the brisket against the grain. Serve alongside the vegetables, drizzled all over with the gravy from the slow cooker.
COCA-COLA BRISKET
This brisket is fantastic! So tender! I've been eating or making it for 30 years and is a family favorite. It freezes well and makes awesome hot sandwiches if leftover.
