1 pound ground beef
6 medium potatoes, peeled and cubed
1 package (16 ounces) baby carrots
3 cups water
2 tablespoons Lipton beefy onion soup mix
1 garlic clove, minced
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 to 1-1/2 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 can (10-3/4 ounces) condensed tomato soup, undiluted
1 can (6 ounces) Italian tomato paste

Steps:

  • In a large skillet, cook beef over medium heat until no longer pink; drain. In a 5-qt. slow cooker, combine the next nine ingredients. Stir in the beef. Cover and cook on high for 4-5 hours. Stir in soup and tomato paste; cover and cook for 1 hour longer or until heated through.

  • Heat oil in a pot over medium-high heat. Add onion and saute until tender, 5 to 7 minutes. Add beef, salt, and pepper; cook and stir until browned and crumbly, 5 to 7 minutes. 1 lb 93% lean ground beef (93/7)
4 cups water
3 medium fresh carrot sticks, sliced into 1/4 in pieces
1/3 lb fresh green beans, ends snapped and cut into 1 in pieces
3 medium potatoes, peeled and cubed
1 garlic clove, minced
1/4 yellow onion, finely diced
15 ounces tomato sauce
6 ounces tomato paste
1 teaspoon beef bouillon
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 pinch sugar

Steps:

  • Brown hamburger meat and drain the fat off.
  • Add the water, carrots, green beans, garlic, onion, tomato sauce, tomato paste, beef bouillon, salt, pepper, and sugar.
  • Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and cover for about 30 minutes stirring occasionally.
  • Add the potatoes, cover and cook for 25-30 minutes or until potatoes are just tender.
  • Note: Don't cook for to long or the potatoes will mush and make the stew to thick!

2 (.87 ounce) packages dry brown gravy mix
1 large potato, cubed

Steps:

  • Place the flour in a shallow bowl, and mix with salt and black pepper. Sprinkle beef with more salt and black pepper. Press the beef cubes into the seasoned flour, and tap off the excess flour.
  • Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat, and cook the beef cubes until browned on all sides, working in batches. Place the browned beef into a slow cooker.   • Cover and cook on high for 4 to 5 hours.
