1/3 cup packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons butter
2 large apples, cut into 1/2-inch slices
1/4 cup chopped pecans, toasted

Steps:

  • In a large skillet, cook and stir brown sugar and butter over medium heat until sugar is dissolved. Add apples; cook, uncovered, over medium heat for 5-7 minutes or until tender, stirring occasionally. Stir in pecans. Serve warm.

These super simple Caramel Pecan Apple Slices are a deliciously easy to make fall treat. Even better, they're already sliced and much easier to eat than a traditional caramel apple!

1 Large Apple
10 Caramel Pieces (or you can use a Caramel Apple Kit)
1/2 Cup of Chopped Pecans
Wilton Cookie Sticks

Steps:

  • Cut one apple into 4 thick slices.
  • Push the cookie stick in the bottom of the apple slice.
  • Melt the caramel in the microwave. Dip each apple slice into the caramel, making sure it's completely coated.
  • Dip each caramel apple into a bowl of pecans, covering it as much as you want.
  • Eat immediately or you can wait for it to harden a bit.

These yummy fall treat are so delicious and easy to make! These caramel apple slices are so good!

2 honey crisp apples
1 bag caramel bits (for melting)
1 cup honey roasted peanuts; chopped
lollipop sticks

Steps:

  • Wash and slice the apples width wise just thick enough to put a lollipop stick in. Do this for both apples.
  • Melt the caramel bits per the directions on the bag. I did thi via the microwave version as it takes just minutes.
  • Place the lollipop sticks in the apples. Dip into the caramel and set aside.
  • Chop peanuts and sprinkle the nuts over the caramel apples while caramel is still wet. Serve!

This delicious pie is a hit at Thanksgiving, or anytime, really! It's a combination/adaptation of the Basic Flaky Pie Crust, Apple Pie by Grandma Ople, and Upside-Down Apple Pecan Pie.

2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon salt
1 cup cold shortening
6 tablespoons ice water, or as needed
½ cup unsalted butter
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
½ cup white sugar
½ cup packed brown sugar
¼ cup water
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 pinch ground nutmeg
⅓ cup butter
½ cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 cup chopped pecans
8 Granny Smith apples - peeled, cored and thinly sliced

Steps:

  • Whisk 2 1/2 cups flour and salt together in a bowl. Cut in shortening with 2 knives or pastry blender until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add ice water, 1 tablespoon at a time, tossing with a fork, until flour mixture is moistened and dough comes together. Do not add more water than you need. Divide the dough in half and shape into 2 balls. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate, at least 30 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line a 9-inch pie pan with wax paper.
  • Melt 1/2 cup unsalted butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir in 3 tablespoons flour to form a paste. Stir in 1/4 cup white sugar, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1/4 cup water, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg; bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer until filling mixture is thickened slightly, about 3 minutes.
  • Melt 1/3 cup butter in a separate saucepan over low heat. Add 1/2 cup brown sugar and whisk until smooth, about 2 minutes. Stir in pecans.
  • Spread pecan mixture evenly onto lined pie pan. Roll out one ball of dough; line pie pan over pecan mixture. Toss apples with filling mixture; pour into pie plate. Roll out second ball of dough and place over apple filling. Crimp edges of bottom and top crusts together. Cut several small slits into top crust to vent. Place pie on foil-lined baking sheet.
  • Bake pie in the preheated oven until crust is golden brown, about 1 hour.
  • Remove pie from oven and allow to cool slightly, 5 to 10 minutes. Place a serving plate gently over pie and carefully flip to invert, being careful not to come in contact with molten sugar. Peel off waxed paper; cool for 1 hour.

7 cups sliced peeled tart apples (about 6 medium)
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3/4 cup chopped pecans
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
3 tablespoons sugar
4 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1/4 cup caramel topping, room temperature
3 tablespoons butter, melted
STREUSEL TOPPING:
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup sugar
6 tablespoons cold butter, cubed
2/3 cup chopped pecans
1/4 cup caramel topping, room temperature
Whipped cream, optional

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°. On a lightly floured surface, roll dough to a 1/8-in.-thick circle; transfer to a 9-in. deep-dish pie plate. Trim crust to 1/2 in. beyond rim of plate; flute edge. Refrigerate while preparing filling., In a large bowl, toss apples with lemon juice and vanilla. Mix pecans, sugars, cinnamon and cornstarch; add to apples and toss to combine., Spread caramel topping onto bottom of crust. Fill with apple mixture. Drizzle with butter. , For streusel topping, mix flour and sugar. Cut in butter until crumbly; stir in pecans. Sprinkle over filling., Bake on a lower oven rack until filling is bubbly, 65-75 minutes. Drizzle with caramel topping. Cool on a wire rack.
