Ingredients

1 (15-ounce) can fruit cocktail in light syrup
1/2 cup whiskey
1 (12-ounce) can pear nectar
1 (12-ounce) can peach nectar

Steps:

Drain the fruit cocktail and reserve the syrup. Put the fruit into a bowl, pour the whiskey over and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or overnight. In a pitcher, combine the reserved syrup with the nectars and refrigerate.
Combine the fruit and whiskey mixture with the nectars mixture. Pour into glasses filled with ice and serve.

This one is sooooooooo easy! Less than a half hour to make and it tastes yummy and presents beautifully. Have only tried this with fresh fruit, but would be interested in knowing how canned or frozen works as well. Being that I am not an overt fan of the typical "fruit cocktail", this one was really different and GOOD!

Ingredients

3/4 cup diced fresh strawberries
3/4 cup diced fresh pineapple
2 oranges, peel removed,cut in segments and diced
2 tablespoons white rum
2 tablespoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon lime zest
sugar or pink tinted sugar (optional)
red food coloring (optional)
lime slice (optional)

Steps:

Mix the strawberries, pineapple, oranges, rum, the 2 tablespoons sugar and lime peel in a large bowl.
Let stand, tossing occasionally until sugar dissolves. About ten minutes.
Spread about 2 tablespoons of sugar on a plate.
Add one or two drops of red food coloring and blend until tinted.
OR, just spread the pink tinted sugar on a plate.
Dip rim of martini glass in water, then the sugar, to coat the rim.
Spoon in fruit and juice.
Slit a lime slice to garnish the side of the glass.

Years and years ago I clipped this from the Chicago Sun-Times. It is lovely served in stemware. I like to serve it as an appetizer before a special dinner.

Ingredients

1/2 cup rose wine
1/2 cup lemon juice
1/2 cup orange juice
1/4 cup sugar
1 dash clove
1 dash nutmeg
1 dash salt
frozen peaches
frozen strawberries

Steps:

Combine wine, sugar, spices, salt.
Blend over low heat, stirring until sugar dissolves.
Stir in orange and lemon juice.
Cool.
Combine fruits with wine and juice mixture and chill.
Serves six.
Cook time is chill time.
