1/3 cup sweet and sour sauce
2 tbsp rice vinegar
1 tbsp plus 1 tsp cornstarch, divided
1 tsp Sriracha hot chili sauce (optional)

1 lb medium raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
2 tbsp canola oil, divided
1 green or red bell pepper, chopped
1 onion, chopped
1 cup snow peas, halved diagonally

Steps:

  • Drain pineapple chunks; reserve juice. Combine 1/3 cup juice with sweet and sour sauce, rice vinegar, 1 teaspoon cornstarch and Sriracha, if using, together in a small bowl. Set aside. Step 2
  • Combine remaining juice with water to equal 2 cups. Prepare rice according to package directions, using juice mixture. Step 3
  • Toss shrimp with remaining 1 tablespoon of cornstarch in a small bowl. Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a large, nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add shrimp mixture to the pan and cook for 2 to 3 minutes turning once, until lightly browned around the edges. Remove shrimp and set aside. Step 4
  • Heat remaining 1 tablespoon oil in skillet over medium-high heat. Add bell pepper, onion and pineapple chunks to skillet and cook for 3 to 5 minutes. Return shrimp to skillet and add snow peas. Cook for 1 minute longer. Stir in the sweet and sour sauce mixture and cook, stirring until bubbling and slightly thickened. Serve over rice.

3 scallions, minced, divided
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds

Steps:

  • Combine soy sauce, 2 minced scallions, garlic, sesame seeds, cornstarch, ginger, mirin, sugar, red pepper flakes, and sesame oil in a bowl to make marinade.
  • Place shrimp in a large resealable plastic bag; pour in marinade. Seal the bag and shake to coat shrimp. Place in refrigerator and marinate for 15 to 20 minutes.
  • Heat a skillet over medium-high heat; add shrimp. Cook, turning and basting a few times with leftover marinade, 5 to 7 minutes. Transfer shrimp to a bowl, reserving oil in the skillet.
  • Pour 3 tablespoons of the marinade and gochujang to the skillet over medium heat. Cook and stir until thickened, about 2 minutes. Brush glaze over cooked shrimp or use as a dip. Sprinkle the remaining minced scallion on top.

1 cup carrot, sliced
1 cup green bell pepper, diced

Sour Sauce Ingredients
1/2 cup honey
1/3 cup rice vinegar
1/2 tablespoon soy sauce or coconut aminos
2 tablespoons tomato paste
3 tablespoons lemon juice
3 tablespoons orange juice
1 tablespoon cornstarch
2 tablespoons warm water or pineapple juice

Steps:

  • Get your pot of rice started. Dice your vegetables and add to a seperate bowl,
  • Whisk together the honey, vinegar, soy sauce, tomato paste, lemon juice and orange juice in a medium bowl.
  • In a small bowl, make a cornstarch slurry by whisking together a tablespoon of cornstarch and warm water.
  • Pat the shrimp with paper towels.
  • Heat oil in a wok or a large skillet and add the juicy shrimp. Stir fry the shrimp until they are lightly golden brown on medium heat.
  • Add in the carrots, onion and garlic in with the cooked shrimp and cook for another minute before adding the bell peppers and red pepper. Cook for another minute on medium-high heat.
  • Pour your sweet and sour sauce into the skillet, stir and cook on low heat until your sauce is simmering. Then add in the cornstarch mixture. You will want to keep a close eye to ensure it does not burn or stick, so stir constantly until thickened.
  • Serve your sweet and sour shrimp stir-fry warm with rice.

Steps:

  • Heat a wok or large saute pan over medium-high heat. Add 1 tablespoon vegetable oil and sesame oil.
  • Once the oil is hot add the shrimp in a single layer, do not move for 1 minute. Stir and cook another 30 seconds. Transfer cooked shrimp to a clean plate.
  • Add 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil to the pan, once hot add the bell pepper and zucchini. Stir-fry for 2 minutes.
  • Add in the garlic and ginger, stir-fry for 30 seconds.
  • Add in the pineapple and stir-fry for 30 seconds.
  • Pour in the sweet and sour sauce, stir and cook until simmering, 2 minutes.
  • Whisk the cornstarch mixture and then gradually add it to the center of the pan. Stir constantly until the sauce is thickened, 30 seconds.
  • Add the cooked shrimp, stir to combine and cook until shrimp are warmed through, 2 minutes.
  • Serve sweet and sour shrimp garnished with green onions and sesame seeds.

3 tablespoons ketchup
3 tablespoons sugar
3 tablespoons pineapple or orange juice

1 pound shrimp
2 teaspoons minced ginger

Steps:

  • To make the sauce, in a bowl, combine 1/4 cup of stock, the ketchup, sugar, juice, vinegar, soy, and 1/2 teaspoon of the pepper flakes. Set aside.
  • In a small bowl, combine the cornstarch with the remaining 2 tablespoons of stock and stir to dissolve. Set aside.
  • In a bowl, toss the shrimp with the ginger, garlic, and remaining 1/4 teaspoon pepper flakes. Set aside for 10 to 20 minutes.
  • Heat a large wok over high heat. Add the oil, swirling to coat the sides and bottom of the pan. Add the shrimp, garlic, and ginger and stir-fry until pink, about 2 minutes. Remove from the pan. Add the onions and peppers and stir-fry until crisp-tender, about 2 minutes. Add the sauce and cook, stirring, until the sugar dissolves. Add the cornstarch mixture and bring to a boil. Return the shrimp to the pan and add the pineapples, cherries, and green onions. Cook until the sauce is thick, about 1 minute.
  • Remove from the heat and serve over rice.

  • Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil.
  • Add the pasta and cook as per package directions and drain.
  • Meanwhile, heat 2 tablespoons oil in a 12 inch skillet, over medium-high heat, add onions and cook 2 minutes then add broccoli and continue to cook, stirring, an additional 5 minutes.

1 teaspoon vegetable oil
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger (or 1/8 teaspoon ground ginger)
5 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon chili sauce
4½ tablespoons rice wine vinegar
4½ tablespoons ketchup
1½ tablespoons Tamari sauce (or soy sauce)
One 14 ounce box Gorton's Popcorn Shrimp
8 ounces pineapple, chopped into 1-inch pieces
1 red pepper, chopped into 1-inch pieces
1 orange pepper, chopped into 1-inch pieces
1 medium yellow onion, chopped into 1-inch pieces
5 ounces snap peas, cut in half
3 cups cooked rice of your preference (1 cup uncooked)
1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
4 green onions, chopped finely on the bias

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
  • Saute ginger and garlic over medium heat in olive oil for 2 minutes.
  • Add the rest of the sauce ingredients and cook 2 more minutes.
  • Remove sauce from heat and set aside.
  • Start cooking rice according to your package instructions.
  • Place Gorton's shrimp on a parchment-lined cookie sheet, and bake at 425 for 14-16 minutes (flip once at 8 minutes).
  • Meanwhile, saute peppers and onions in 1 tablespoon vegetable oil over medium-high heat for 6 minutes. Add peas and pineapple, and cook 2 more minutes. Remove from heat and toss with half of the sweet and sour sauce.
  • To serve, add cooked rice to each serving bowl, then add veggie/pineapple mixture. Add shrimp, and drizzle the shrimp with some of the remaining sweet and sour sauce, making it as "saucy" as you prefer. Garnish with toasted sesame seeds and sliced green onions.
