Using white wine makes my version of sangria a little lighter, yet it still has the same wonderful sweetness. Frozen fruit allows me to serve this any time of year. Nothing beats this summer sangria recipe-white wine over red, of course. -Sharon Tipton, Orlando, Florida

1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup brandy
1 cup sliced peeled fresh or frozen peaches, thawed
1 cup sliced fresh or frozen sliced strawberries, thawed
1 medium lemon, sliced
1 medium lime, sliced
1 bottle (750 milliliters) dry white wine, chilled
1 can (12 ounces) lemon-lime soda, chilled
Ice cubes

Steps:

  • In a pitcher, mix sugar and brandy until sugar is dissolved. Add remaining ingredients; stir gently to combine. Serve over ice.

This white sangria is light and refreshing. It's made with traditional sangria ingredients and is the perfect summer cocktail to enjoy outside!

1 sliced lime
1 sliced lemon
4 large strawberries (sliced)
1 bottle white wine (Try a Rioja Spanish white or a Sauvignon Blanc)
1 large apple (sliced)
1/3 cup apple vodka
1/4 cup pear (peach or orange liqueur)
1/3 cup simple syrup (homemade)
1/3 cup sparkling water

Steps:

  • In a medium sauce pan combine 1/2 cup cane sugar and 1/2 water. Bring it to simmer until sugar melts, then let it cool to room temperature.
  • Prepare all of the fruit by washing it and slicing it.
  • In a pitcher add all of the ingredients (except the sparkling wateand stir.
  • Let the sangria sit in the fridge so the flavors can combine. You can leave it in the fridge for 1 -8 hours.
  • Add the sparkling water before you serve and give it a stir.
  • Enjoy!

3 shots Calvados or other apple liquor
1 lime, sliced
1 lemon, sliced
2 ripe peaches, cut into wedges
3 ripe green apples seeded and cut into wedges
1 bottle white Rioja Spanish wine or other dry white wine
1 pint raspberries
Sparkling soda water, for topping off glasses of sangria at table

Steps:

  • Combine sugar, Calvados, lime, lemon, peaches and apples in a large pitcher. Cover with 1 bottle of Rioja wine and chill sangria several hours. To serve, spoon fruits into glasses or goblets, adding a few fresh raspberries in each glass, pour wine over top of the fruit. Top glasses of sangria off with a splash of soda water and serve.

1 medium lemon ((thinly sliced into rounds))
1/4 cup organic cane sugar ((or sub agave, powdered coconut sugar, maple syrup, or stevia to taste // for drier sangria, omit))
1/4 cup apple brandy
1/2 medium organic green apple ((cored, skin on, chopped into small pieces))
1 medium ripe peach or nectarine ((thinly sliced))
1 cup sliced strawberries
1 750-ml bottle dry, crisp white wine
Ice or frozen berries for serving
Sparkling water ((optional))
Fresh mint ((optional))

Steps:

  • Add lime, lemon, and sugar (or other sweeteners) to a large pitcher (or use multiple pitchers if making a larger batch) and muddle with a muddler or gently crush with a wooden spoon for 45 seconds.
  • Add apple brandy and muddle again to combine for 30 seconds. Add apple, nectarine, and strawberries and stir to incorporate. Then add wine and stir once more.
  • Taste and adjust flavor as needed, adding more sweetener of choice for sweetness, lemon or lime juice for acidity, or fruit. Stir to combine.
  • Add ice or frozen berries and stir once more to chill. Serve as is or with a bit more ice and mint (optional). To dilute the mixture, top off glasses with a bit of sparkling water (optional).
  • Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 48 hours, though best when enjoyed within the first 1-2 days.
