6 large tart apples
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
6 tablespoons butter, melted
Vanilla ice cream

Steps:

  • Peel, core and cut each apple into eight wedges; transfer to a 3-qt. slow cooker. Drizzle with lemon juice. Combine the sugars, flour, cinnamon and nutmeg; sprinkle over apples. Drizzle with butter., Cover and cook on low until apples are tender, 3-4 hours., Serve in dessert dishes with ice cream.

1 package yellow cake mix (regular size)
1 can (21 ounces) apple pie filling
4 large eggs, room temperature
2/3 cup canola oil
6 tablespoons cinnamon sugar
GLAZE:
1 cup confectioners' sugar
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 to 2 tablespoons water

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°. Grease and flour a 10-in. fluted tube pan. Combine cake mix, pie filling, eggs and oil; beat on low speed 30 seconds. Beat on medium 2 minutes. Pour half of the batter into prepared pan. Sprinkle with 3 tablespoons cinnamon sugar. Add remaining cake mix; top with remaining cinnamon sugar., Bake until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean, 40-45 minutes. Cool in pan 10 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely., Mix confectioners' sugar, cinnamon and enough water to reach desired consistency. Spoon glaze over cake, allowing some to flow over sides.

1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup sour cream
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1½ cups flour
¾ cup white sugar
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp cinnamon
½ tsp baking soda
Pinch of salt
1 cup red apple, peeled and diced (*1 large or 2 small)
¼ cup white sugar
1 tbsp melted unsalted butter, cooled
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 cup powdered sugar
2-3 tsp milk, to taste, depending on desired thickness

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 35o degrees. Coat a 9-inch round cake pan with cooking spray.
  • Make the cake by combining the oil, sour cream, eggs, and vanilla in a small bowl; whisk until combined.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, baking soda, and salt together until well combined. Add the apples and mix until evenly coated.
  • Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients until just combined. Pour batter into the prepared cake tin and spread out evenly with a rubber spatula. The batter will be very thick.
  • Make the cinnamon topping by combining the cooled melted butter with the sugar and cinnamon until well combined. Sprinkle evenly over the top of the cake.
  • Bake the cake for 30-35 minutes, making sure to turn halfway through baking, until a tester inserted in the center comes out clean. Transfer to a wire rack to cool.
  • Make the glaze by combining the powdered sugar and milk together until creamy, smooth, and your desired thickness.
  • Drizzle the glaze over the cooled cake. Slice and serve with ice-cold milk. Enjoy!

Granulated sugar 1 cup
All-purpose flour 1 cup
Vanilla extract 1 tsp
Baking soda ¾ tsp

Heavy cream ½ cup
Sugar 1 cup
Cinnamon 1 tsp

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 °F and lightly grease or line the base of a 9-inch springform with cooking spray or baking parchment paper.
  • Using an electric whisk, beat eggs and sugar on high speed for 2-3 minutes until light yellow and thickened to triple the size.
  • With the electric beater lowered to a low speed, beat in the vanilla, flour, baking soda and vinegar and combine well.
  • Combine apples with batter mix and transfer to the prepared springform baking pan.
  • Bake for 55-60 minutes until a wooden toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Rest cake for 10 minutes before removing from pan and allow to cool completely.
  • Prepare a bowl of ice-cold water and set aside. Blanch sliced apples in a pot of boiling water for less than a minute, to soften. Remove apples and transfer immediately to the ice water to stop the cooking process. Dry and drain excess water on a paper towel.
  • Arrange apples on top of the baked cake, in circles, starting outwards working towards the center, forming a rose.
  • In a small saucepan over medium heat, heat heavy cream and add powdered sugar and cinnamon. Whisk until smooth and heated through. Allow to cool a little before using. (Do not cool too long or glaze will harden.)
  • Drizzle glaze over cake and serve.

1 1/2 cups shredded peeled baking apples (2 large)
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup vegetable oil
4 eggs, lightly beaten
3 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
1/2 cup chopped pecans
2 teaspoons baking soda
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 tablespoon milk
1/2 cup powdered sugar, sifted

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F. Grease bottoms only of 2 (8x4-inch) loaf pans with cooking spray or shortening.
  • In large bowl, stir together apples, 1 cup brown sugar, the buttermilk, oil and eggs. Stir in remaining bread ingredients just until dry ingredients are moistened. Pour into pans.
  • Bake 45 to 55 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes on cooling rack. Loosen sides of loaves from pans; remove from pans and place top sides up on cooling rack. Cool completely, about 1 hour.
  • In 1-quart saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in 1/4 cup brown sugar. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly; reduce heat to low. Boil and stir 2 minutes. Stir in milk. Heat to boiling; remove from heat. Cool to lukewarm, about 30 minutes.
  • Gradually stir powdered sugar into glaze mixture. Place saucepan of glaze in bowl of cold water. Beat with spoon until smooth and thin enough to drizzle. If glaze becomes too stiff, stir in additional milk, 1/2 teaspoon at a time, or heat over low heat, stirring constantly. Drizzle glaze over loaves. Wrap tightly and store at room temperature up to 4 days, or refrigerate up to 10 days.
