CINNAMON BREAD I
This is a lovely way to start off your morning when you want a little something different than your usual. Note: If you don't have buttermilk you may substitute milk with 1 tablespoon vinegar to measure 1 cup.

Steps:
- Soften yeast in warm water (put in separate bowl from next ingredients). Combine scalded milk, sugar, salt, butter, stirring to melt butter. Cool til lukewarm. Add enough flour to milk mixture to make a thick batter. Add the beaten egg and beat well. Add the softened yeast and stir. Add remaining flour to make a soft dough. Knead on lightly floured surface til smooth and satiny (about 10 minutes). Place in lightly greased bowl, turning once to grease surface. Cover and let rise in warm place til double (about 1 1/2 hours). Punch dough down; round into ball and let rest 10 minutes (covered). Grease bottom and sides of a bread pan generously with butter (8 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 2 1/2 size pan or 9x5x3) On lightly floured board, roll out dough into 12x15 inch rectangle; brush with melted butter (about 1 tablespoon). Combine the 1/2 cup sugar and 1 tsp cinnamon and sprinkle most on the dough (use the rest to coat the inside of the bread pan). Fold dough in thirds to make a 4x15 inch strip; cut into 10 equal slices. Put strips of dough, cut side down, close together in the bread pan. Cover; let rise in warm place til almost double (about 45 minutes) Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes. Turn out immediately. After it cools a little, mix about 1 cup of powdered sugar with some milk or cream to make a thick drizzling icing and drizzle on top of bread.
GRANDMA'S BEST CINNAMON ROLLS
This is from a clipping from a magazine dated 1997 I mix the dough in the bread machine on the dough cycle. And then shape, rise and bake in the oven. The rolls are tender and I like the oatmeal. I finished them off with some icing I had left over from a spanich bar cake that I made a few days before. This is a good recipe if you are home getting ready for overnight guests, the bread machine does a lot of the work, and your guests think you spent hours making these. (the prep time doesn't include the time in the bread machine)

- While the milk mixture is cooling, sprinkle yeast over water and let sit for 10 minutes.
- Pour lukewarm milk mixture into a bowl; add 1 cup flour and beat well. Beat in yeast mixture and egg. Gradually beat in remaining 2 1/2 cups flour. Cover and let rise until doubled in size, about 1 hour. Test by pressing a finger into the dough; a fingerprint should stay.

- Bake in the oven until golden brown, 20 to 25 minutes.
- Meanwhile, prepare frosting by mixing confectioners' sugar and water together in a bowl.
- Remove rolls from the oven. Transfer to a large serving plate and spread frosting over top.

GRANDMA'S RAISIN BREAD
My grandmother's famous recipe. She mad it often and we all loved it. I must admit that I do not know why my family calls this raisin bread, because it has always seemed more like a cake to me.
