1 onion, chopped
1 carrot, chopped
1/2 lb. fresh green beans, trimmed, cut into 1-inch lengths
1-1/4 qt. (5 cups) plus 2 Tbsp. water, divided
2 cups chopped tomatoes
2 tsp. WYLER'S Instant Bouillon Chicken Flavored Powder
3/4 tsp. each dried Italian seasoning and garlic powder
1 Tbsp. lemon juice

Steps:

  • Heat dressing in Dutch oven or small stockpot on medium heat. Add onions and carrots; cook 2 to 3 min. or until crisp-tender, stirring frequently.
  • Meanwhile, place beans in medium microwaveable bowl. Add 2 Tbsp. water; cover with waxed paper. Microwave on HIGH 2 min.
  • Add tomatoes to onion mixture; stir. Add bouillon, dry seasonings, beans and remaining water; stir. Bring to boil; simmer on medium-low heat 10 min., stirring occasionally. Remove from heat.
  • Stir in lemon juice.

5 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
2 tablespoons tomato paste
2 teaspoons finely chopped fresh rosemary
2 cloves garlic, chopped
Pinch of red pepper flakes
2 pounds green beans, trimmed and halved
1 14-ounce can cherry tomatoes Kosher salt
3/4 cup panko breadcrumbs
1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
Freshly ground pepper

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F. Heat 3 tablespoons olive oil in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Add the tomato paste and cook, stirring, until slightly darkened, about 2 minutes. Add the rosemary, garlic and red pepper flakes and cook until the garlic starts browning, about 1 minute.
  • Add the green beans, cherry tomatoes and their liquid, 1 3/4 cups water and 2 teaspoons salt to the pot. Partially cover and cook, stirring occasionally, until the green beans are tender and the liquid is slightly thickened, 20 to 25 minutes. Transfer to a 3-quart baking dish.
  • Mix the panko, parmesan, parsley and the remaining 2 tablespoons olive oil in a bowl; season with salt and pepper. Sprinkle over the green bean mixture and bake until the sauce is bubbling and the topping is browned, about 15 minutes.

8 slices bacon, diced very small
1 large onion, diced very small
2 pounds green beans, trimmed and halved
1 mounded tablespoon tomato paste
Three 14.5-ounce cans whole tomatoes
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
Cayenne pepper, as needed

Steps:

  • Add the bacon and onion to a large skillet over medium heat. Cook, stirring, until the bacon is beginning to crisp and the onions are golden, 5 to 7 minutes.
  • Increase the heat to medium high and add the green beans and tomato paste. Stir and allow to cook for a minute or two. Add the tomatoes, crushing them with your hands as you add them. Stir to combine. Season with salt, pepper and cayenne. Bring the mixture to a simmer and simmer until thickened and the beans are soft but still green, 5 to 7 minutes.

  • Bring enough water to a boil to cover the beans when added. Add salt and the beans, and cook 5 to 10 minutes or until tender. Drain.
