4 1/2 cups whole milk
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa
1/4 cup sugar
Espresso shots
1 toffee candy bar, crumbled (recommended: Heath Bar)
Mini marshmallows
Cinnamon-Sugar, recipe follows
1 vanilla bean
1/2 cup sugar
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Steps:

  • In a medium saucepan, heat 4 cups of the milk over low heat, being very careful not to let the milk boil. In a small bowl, mix together the cocoa, sugar, and the remaining 1/2 cup milk. Add the cocoa mixture to the warm milk, and continue to warm the cocoa until hot.
  • Pour into 4 mugs and serve along with the garnishes.
  • On a large serving tray, arrange the mugs of hot chocolate, a small pitcher of espresso shots, a bowl of crumbled toffee candy bar, a bowl of mini-marshmallows, and a bowl of Cinnamon-Sugar. Invite your guests to flavor and garnish their hot chocolate as they desire.;
  • Cut the vanilla bean in half, lengthwise. Using the back of a knife, scrape along the inside of the vanilla bean to collect the seeds. Scrape vanilla bean seeds into a small bowl. Add sugar and cinnamon and stir to combine. Set aside in a small serving bowl.;

1/3 cup sugar
1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
Kosher salt
12 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped (see Cook's Note)
Mini marshmallows, for topping
Whipped cream, for topping
Crushed candy canes, for topping
Salted caramel sauce, for topping

Steps:

  • Add the milk, cream, cocoa powder, sugar, vanilla and 1/4 teaspoon salt to a 6-quart slow cooker. Whisk until combined and the cocoa is dissolved. Stir in the chopped chocolate.
  • Cover and cook on low, whisking every 30 minutes, until the chocolate is melted and the mixture is hot, about 2 hours 30 minutes.
  • Ladle into mugs and top as desired with either some marshmallows or whipped cream sprinkled with crushed candy canes, or drizzled with caramel sauce.

  • Place chocolate pieces in a saucepan over medium-low heat; add milk and whisk constantly until chocolate is melted and well blended, about 5 minutes. Whisk in cinnamon. Remove from heat; add more milk if desired. Serve in a mug.

12 whole graham crackers
½ teaspoon kosher salt
½ cup melted butter
2 cups heavy cream, divided
1 teaspoon instant espresso powder
2 teaspoons McCormick® vanilla extract
12 oz semisweet chocolate, finely chopped
½ teaspoon kosher salt

Steps:

  • Line an 8-by-8-inch (20 x 20 cm) baking dish with parchment paper, allowing extra parchment to hang over the edges.
  • Crust: Crack graham crackers in half and place in food processor. Process until broken down into crumbs. Transfer to a bowl and stir in sugar and salt. Stir in melted butter. Press mixture into the baking dish in an even layer. Place in freezer while you make the filling.
  • Filling: Place ⅔ cup (160 ml) heavy cream, instant espresso powder, and McCormick Vanilla Extract in a small pot over low heat. Heat until hot, but not yet simmering. Pour hot liquid over chopped chocolate and stir until melted and smooth. Stir in salt. Let mixture cool completely.
  • Place the rest of the heavy cream in a large bowl. Beat with a hand mixer until you have stiff peaks. Fold in cooled chocolate mixture.
  • Pour filling over crust. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
  • Slice into squares. Place a marshmallow on top of each bar. Brown marshmallows with a kitchen torch or place under the broiler for 10 seconds to brown. Serve!

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Cream butter,add sugar and vanilla mix together.Add the eggs and stir in the milk.Sift together the flour,cocoa and salt.Mix it in with the creamed mixture and add the nuts.Spread the mixture into a greased 9"x9"x2" pan. Bake for 20 minutes. In a mixing bowl mix all of the frosting ingredients together until they are well blended. Frost at once while the bars are still warm,cool completely and cut into bars.

  • Keep on the warm setting if you're serving it hot chocolate bar style with toppings on the side. Leftover hot chocolate can be refrigerated for up to one week and warmed in the microwave before serving.
