3/4 cup chocolate oat milk
1 banana, sliced and frozen
2 tablespoons chocolate protein powder
2 tablespoons chocolate nut butter
1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
Pinch of ground cinnamon
Pinch of cayenne
Marshmallow fluff and cacao nibs, for topping

Steps:

  • Blend the oat milk, banana, protein powder, chocolate nut butter, cocoa powder, cinnamon, cayenne and 1 cup ice in a blender until smooth. Pour into a glass and top with marshmallow fluff and cacao nibs.

Hot cocoa that freezes your taste buds! A terrific snack for hot days, with a wintry twist. For variety, use chocolate ice cream instead of vanilla, and use chocolate chips as a garnish after blending.

1 ½ scoops vanilla ice cream
1 ½ cups milk
¼ cup whipped cream
2 tablespoons instant hot chocolate mix
5 chocolate sandwich cookies, crushed

Steps:

  • In a blender, combine ice cream, milk, whipped cream, hot chocolate mix and crushed cookies. Blend until smooth. Pour into a large chilled glass.

  • The night before, add all ingredients (except chocolate chips, if using) to the bowl of your blender and give it a stir to ensure that everything is well combined. Cover and place in fridge for at least 3 hours, preferably overnight. This step isn’t absolutely necessary, but allowing the oats to soak for a few hours will make them easier to blend and give you a smoother, creamier smoothie.***
  • When ready to eat, blend on high until oats are fully broken down and a smooth and creamy consistency is reached.
  • Transfer the smoothie to a small saucepan set over medium heat (adding chocolate chips, if using) and bring to a simmer or boil, depending on how hot you want it. If the smoothie is too thick, add an extra splash of almond milk until desired consistency is reached.
  • When your smoothie reaches your preferred temperature, transfer it to a heat-safe glass, garnish with toppings of choice, and enjoy!
