Time 15m

Yield 1 yeast

Number Of Ingredients 3

Dry yeast - 1 pack ( 7 gr )
Water, warm - 1/2 cup ( 100 gr )
Sugar, white or flour (optional) - 1/4 tsp ( 2 gr )

Steps:

  • Instructions Heat the water until it gets to 40 degrees Celsius. If you don't have a thermometer, just stick your finger in, it should feel warm to the touch, but you should be able to stand it for 5 seconds. Add the yeast and whisk together. Optional step: If you don't feel confident enough, a fool proof method is to add some sugar or flour (depending on your recipe) and whisk until it dissolves. It will also speed up the whole proofing process. Place the cup in a warm area. I like to turn on my radiator until it's hot, place the cup on it, and turn the radiator off again. The leftover warmth is enough to wake up the yeast and will not burn it. When it looks like a cup of cappuccino coffee, it is ready! Congratulations! Your yeast is proofed. Feel free to add it in your dough!
