ITALIAN CHEESE BREAD
This savory Italian flatbread can be made from scratch in less than an hour. For even faster preparation, dough can be made in food processor. Recipe is slightly changed, but is originally from Taste of Home magazine. YUMMY!

Steps:
- In a bowl, combine the first four ingredients.
- Combine water& oil and add to flour mixture.
- Add additional flour if needed to form soft dough.
- Turn onto floured surface& knead 1 to 2 minutes.
- Place in greased bowl, turning once to grease top.
- Cover and let rise in warm place for 20 minutes.
- Punch dough down& place on greased 12" pizza pan and pat into a 12" circle.
- Brush with salad dressing.
- Combine seasonings and sprinkle over top.
- Sprinkle with cheeses.
- Bake at 450 degrees for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
- Serve warm.

Posted for a quick, weeknight bread, or as a snack. This is delicious, but quick and easy. I came up with this trying to match a bread we get from a local pizzeria/sandwich shop. Close, but not quite!

Steps:
- Spread softened butter over the cut sides of the bread. Place on an ungreased baking sheet.
- Combine the cheese, oregano and garlic salt; sprinkle over the bread.

ITALIAN HERB BREAD I
This aromatic bread can be served with dinner, or the dough can be used for pizza.

Steps:
- Mix yeast, warm water, and white sugar together in a large bowl. Set aside for five minutes, or until mixture becomes foamy.
- Stir olive oil, salt, herbs, garlic powder, onion powder, cheese, and 3 cups flour into the yeast mixture. Gradually mix in the next three cups of flour. Dough will be stiff.
- Knead dough for 5 to 10 minutes, or until it is smooth and rubbery. Place in an oiled bowl, and turn to cover the surface of the dough with oil. Cover with a damp linen dish towel. Allow to rise for one hour, or until the dough has doubled in size.
- Punch dough down to release all the air. Shape into two loaves. Place loaves on a greased cookie sheet, or into two greased 9 x 5 inch loaf pans. Allow to rise until doubled in size, about a 30 minutes.
- Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 35 minutes. Remove loaves from pan(s), and let cool on wire racks for at least 15 minutes before slicing.

- In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in water. Add 2 cups flour, sugar, salt, garlic salt, and cheese. Beat until smooth. Stir in enough remaining flour to form a soft dough. , Turn onto a floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic, about 6-8 minutes. Place in a greased bowl, turning once to grease top. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour. , Punch dough down. Turn onto a lightly floured surface; divide in half. Shape each half into a 14-in. loaf. Place on a greased baking sheet that has been sprinkled with cornmeal. Cover and let rise until doubled, about 45 minutes. , Brush loaves with water. Make three diagonal slashes about 1/2 in. deep with a very sharp knife in each loaf. , Fill a 13-in. x 9-in. baking pan with 1 in. of hot water and place on the bottom oven rack. Steps:
- In a large bowl or stand mixer, mix together water, yeast, sugar.
- Add in flour and salt.
- Mix with a dough hook until it comes away from the sides of the bowl - add more flour if necessary.
- Knead by hand or with dough hook for about five minutes.
- Cover the dough ball with oil, place in a bowl, cover with plastic, and let rise at room temperature 30-45 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees
- Grease 9×13 glass baking dish with butter
- Press the dough into the pan
- Spread the softened butter over the top of the dough
- Spoon the minced garlic evenly over the top of the butter to make the garlic butter topping.
- Sprinkle cheese over the top
- Sprinkle Italian seasoning over the top
- Cover with tin foil and bake for 15 minutes.
- Remove tin foil and bake for another 10 minutes.
