Homemade Pimento Cheese image

Every good southern woman should have a homemade Pimento Cheese recipe in her back pocket! With the recipe from my grandmother's recipe box and a few tests in the kitchen, I made some of the best we've ever had!

2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
4 ounces diced pimentos, drained
1/2 teaspoon dried mustard

Steps:

  • With an electric mixer, mix the cheddar cheese and cream cheese together. Mix for 2-3 minutes.
  • Add in the mayo and mix.
  • Add in the garlic powder, paprika, onion powder and dry mustard. Stir everything together.
  • Mix in the pimentos.
  • Refrigerate for at least 10-15 minutes before serving.

This is the BEST homemade pimento cheese. Make this classic southern recipe with just just 6 simple ingredients plus salt and pepper and can be whipped up in as little as 15 minutes. Keep the recipe handy because anyone and everyone that tries it will be asking for it!

16 oz sharp cheddar cheese (grated)
8 oz cream cheese (softened)
1/2 cup mayonnaise
4 oz chopped pimentos (drained)
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp dried onion flakes
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper

Steps:

  • Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl. With an electric mixer mix the cheese on low to combine and then on high for 1 minute.
  • Place the cheese in an airtight container and refrigerate for at least two hours so the flavors can meld.
  • Serve with crackers, chips, as a sandwich, or on veggies. Enjoy!

2 cups shredded extra-sharp Cheddar cheese
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
½ cup mayonnaise
¼ teaspoon garlic powder
¼ teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
¼ teaspoon onion powder
1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and minced
1 (4 ounce) jar diced pimento, drained
salt and black pepper to taste

Steps:

  • Place the Cheddar cheese, cream cheese, mayonnaise, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, onion powder, minced jalapeno, and pimento into the large bowl of a mixer. Beat at medium speed, with paddle if possible, until thoroughly combined. Season to taste with salt and black pepper.

1 box (2 lb.) Velveeta
1 lg. jar pimentos, chopped
Miracle Whip
Sugar

Steps:

  • Bring cheese to room temperture, beat with electric mixer, add pimentos while beating cheese.
  • In a seperate bowl, add Miracle Whip (about 1 cup to start with) and beat until fluffy. Add sugar 1 Tbsp. at a time to taste, I usually use enough to take the tang out of Miracle Whip. Add Miracle Whip mixture to Velveeta mixture and continuing beating until real fluffy.
  • Chill and spread on favorite breatd.

Pimento cheese has always been a Southern classic. There are so many ways to make this delicious spread, too. We like it just about any way you "fix" it. It is wonderful with soups, on crackers, and even grilled in sandwiches. 12 ounces Velveeta cheese (You can also make this using shredded Cheddar and Monterey Jack or any cheese of your choice or mix your cheeses. If using the shredded cheese use a pound of cheese)

2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 (4 ounce) jar diced pimentos, undrained
1/4 cup sweet pickle relish (optional)
1 tablespoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 pinch cayenne (optional) or 1 pinch hot sauce (optional)
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon celery seed
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1/4 cup mayonnaise

Steps:

  • If using Velveeta, put the cheese through a food chopper or use food processor to grind up the cheese. Add remaining ingredients. Mix well. Enjoy!
  • Note: I stuffed some celery with it. If you don't have sharp cheddar on hand, use a 1/4 tsp (or a dot more) of cayenne pepper. When serving on white bread, consider grilling it like a grilled cheese sandwich.
