LITTLE CAESARS CRAZY BREAD



Little Caesars Crazy Bread image

Go crazy at home when you make your own crazy breadsticks like the ones at Little Caesars.

1/2 cup warm water (~100° to 110°F)
2 1/2 teaspoons instant yeast (1 package)
1 1/4 cups water
2 tablespoons olive oil
4 cups (22 ounces) bread flour (plus more for working the dough)
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
3 tablespoons butter (melted)
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
3 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • Place 1/2 cup of warm water and yeast in a medium bowl and whisk together briefly. Allow the yeast enough time to bubble up and become active. This should take a few minutes. If the yeast is inactive, you may need to replace the yeast and try again.
  • Add room temperature water and oil to the yeast mixture, and stir to combine.
  • Place the flour and salt in a food processor, and pulse to combine.
  • Add the yeast mixture through the tube of the food processor and process. The dough will form into a ball. Process until the dough is smooth and elastic.
  • Place the dough in a bowl that has been sprayed with non-stick spray, and cover with plastic wrap. Let the dough rise until doubled in size, up to 2 hours.
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  • Gently pat out the dough on a floured surface into a rectangular shape.
  • Cut the dough into two equal portions down the middle. Then make about 8 cuts horizontally across the dough.
  • Roll each portion of dough into a breadstick.
  • Spray a baking sheet with non-stick spray and place the dough strips onto the baking sheet.
  • Bake for about 18 minutes or until the breadsticks become golden.
  • Mix the melted butter and the garlic salt.
  • Brush the garlic sauce over the breadsticks and sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top.

1 tablespoon sugar
1 packet active dry yeast
1 1/4 cup warm water
1 tablespoon oil
1 teaspoon salt
3 cups flour
1/4 cup unsalted butter
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 cup Parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • In the bowl of a stand mixer, add sugar, yeast, and water. Stir to combine.
  • Let sit for 5 minutes to see if bubbles arise, indicating yeast is living.
  • Add oil, salt, and flour. Using the dough hook attachment, mix to combine.
  • Once roughly combined, allow dough hook to knead for 5 minutes.
  • After 5 minutes, remove from stand mixer and place in a large greased bowl.
  • Rest at room temperature for 1 hour.
  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Using your hands, gently press down dough on parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Cut the dough into strips about 1 inch thick.
  • Separate every other strip and place on a second parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Allow dough to rest for 10 minutes.
  • Bake both baking sheets for 15 minutes.
  • Melt butter in the microwave and stir in garlic powder.
  • Remove breadsticks from oven.
  • Brush with garlic butter. Sprinkle with Parmesan.
  • Serve and enjoy.

2 tablespoons active dry yeast
2 pinches white sugar
½ cup warm water
6 cups all-purpose flour, divided
2 cups hot water
3 tablespoons white sugar
2 teaspoons salt
1 tablespoon butter, melted
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese, or to taste
½ teaspoon garlic powder, or to taste

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Grease 2 baking sheets.
  • Dissolve yeast and 2 pinches white sugar in warm water in a bowl. Let stand until the yeast softens and begins to form a creamy foam, about 5 minutes.
  • Mix 4 cups flour, hot water, 3 tablespoons sugar, and salt together in a large mixing bowl; pour yeast mixture into the flour mixture and mix. Add remaining flour, one cup at a time, mixing well between additions. Continue to work the mixture until you have a dough; divide dough into 2 halves. Divide each half into 12 long bread sticks and arrange onto prepared baking sheets.
  • Pour melted butter and sprinkle Parmesan cheese and garlic powder over the breadsticks.
  • Bake in preheated oven until golden brown, about 13 minutes.

1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
1/8 cup finely grated Parmesan cheese
1 cup marinara sauce (for dipping)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
  • Unroll dough on a clean surface. Cut dough in half lengthwise, and then cut 8 strips vertically (making 16 small bread sticks). Place each strip onto a lightly greased baking sheet.
  • Bake 6-8 minutes or until golden brown.
  • While bread sticks are baking, melt the butter and stir in garlic salt. Remove bread sticks from the oven and brush on garlic butter mixture. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
  • Serve with marinara sauce for dipping.

Dough:
1 cup warm water
1 tbsp yeast
1.5 tbsp sugar
2 3/4 cups bread flour
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp olive oil or vegetable oil
Other Ingredients:
6 tablespoons of butter (softened)
1/2 tbsp minced garlic cloves (you could use garlic powder)
1.5 cups pizza cheese
Italian Seasoning or Italian Seasoning Blend (see below)

Steps:

  • In a large bowl or stand mixer, mix together water, yeast, sugar.
  • Add in flour and salt.
  • Mix with a dough hook until it comes away from the sides of the bowl - add more flour if necessary.
  • Knead by hand or with dough hook for about five minutes.
  • Cover the dough ball with oil, place in a bowl, cover with plastic, and let rise at room temperature 30-45 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees
  • Grease 9×13 glass baking dish with butter
  • Press the dough into the pan
  • Spread the softened butter over the top of the dough
  • Spoon the minced garlic evenly over the top of the butter to make the garlic butter topping.
  • Sprinkle cheese over the top
  • Sprinkle Italian seasoning over the top
  • Cover with tin foil and bake for 15 minutes.
  • Remove tin foil and bake for another 10 minutes.
