- In a large bowl, cream butter, shortening and brown sugar until light and fluffy, 5-7 minutes. Add flour, oats, salt and baking soda; mix well. If desired, stir in pecans. Set aside 2 cups. Press remaining oat mixture into an ungreased 13x9-in. baking pan. , For filling, toss apples with flour; spoon over the crust. In a saucepan, melt the caramels and butter over low heat; drizzle over apples. Top with the reserved oat mixture. , Bake at 400° until lightly browned, 25-30 minutes. Cool before cutting into bars.

Caramel Apple Cookie Bars full of apple, caramel, and oats!

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly grease a 13x9 baking dish or spray with nonstick spray.
- In a large mixing bowl, mix together flour, oats, brown sugar, baking soda, and salt until well combined. Mix in melted butter, egg, and vanilla until well combined.
- Spread about 2/3 of mixture onto bottom of prepared baking dish to form an even thin crust layer. You may need to use the back of a fork or your hands to spread evenly. Set remaining crust mixture aside.
- Bake crust for about 12-14 minutes or until slightly puffed.
- Meanwhile, place chopped apples, caramels, and cream in small saucepan over low heat. Stir until caramel is smooth and melted and apples are slightly soft.
- Pour caramel apple mixture over baked crust. Sprinkle remaining crust mixture on top.
- Bake an additional 15-20 minutes at 350 degrees F or until edges are slightly browned. Cool then cut into bars.

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- Cover the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish with pastry for 1 1/2 pie shells, cutting the pastry to fit and filling gaps as necessary.
- Stir apples, sugar, flour, and cinnamon together in a large bowl to coat the apple slices. Layer apple mixture over pie crust. Arrange caramels and butter slices on top of apple mixture.
- Cut remaining pie pastry into 1- to 2-inch pieces; arrange atop the caramels and butter.
- Bake in preheated oven until just beginning to brown, about 1 hour.
- Cool in baking dish on a wire rack for 30 minutes, cut into bars.
- Beat milk and confectioner's sugar together in a small bowl; drizzle over bars.

- Preheat oven to 350°F Grease 13X9-mch baking dish.
- Whisk flour, salt, baking powder and baking soda in medium bowl. Melt butter in medium saucepan. Remove from heat; stir in brown sugar and granulated sugar with spoon. Add egg and vanilla; stir until well blended. Add flour mixture; mix well. Press into bottom of prepared baking dish; top with apples.
- Bake 40 to 45 minutes or until edges are browned and pulling away from sides of pan. Cool completely in pan on wire rack.
- Toast pecans in medium nonstick skillet over medium- high heat 2 minutes, stirring constantly, or until fragrant. Remove from skillet; set aside. Wipe out skillet with paper towel. Heat caramels and milk in same skillet over medium-low heat, stirring constantly, until melted and smooth.
- Drizzle caramel sauce over cooled apple bars; sprinkle with pecans. Let stand 30 minutes before cutting into bars.

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- Combine flour, 1 cup butter, 3/4 cup white sugar, egg, baking powder, and 1/2 teaspoon salt in a food processor; pulse until crumbled and easily formed into dough when pinched. Pour 3/4 of the dough into the prepared pan; press down with your hands until crust is even and well packed.

- In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar and salt. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. - Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 15x10 inch jellyroll pan.
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, quick cooking oats, brown sugar, and baking soda. Stir in the melted butter. Mix until crumbly. This is the crust. Press 1/2 of this mixture into the prepared baking pan. Bake for 8 minutes in preheated oven.
- In a small pan, over medium heat combine the caramel topping and the remaining 1/2 cup of flour. Stirring constantly, bring to a boil and cook for 3 to 5 minutes. This is the caramel filling.
- Spread apple slices evenly over the baked crust. Sprinkle on the nuts. Then Pour the caramel filling over the apple layer. Crumble the remaining crust mixture over the top of everything. Bake again for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. Cool before cutting into bars.

- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, oats, salt and baking soda.

- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the brown sugar, butter and shortening until smooth. Combine 1 3/4 cups flour, oats, baking soda and salt; stir into the creamed mixture until well blended. Set aside 2 cups of this mixture. Press the remaining mixture into the bottom of an ungreased 9x13 inch baking pan.
- In a medium bowl, toss apples with lemon juice, then toss them with the 3 tablespoons of flour. Spread the apple mixture evenly over the prepared crust. In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt caramels, stirring frequently until smooth. Pour the melted caramels evenly over the apples. Sprinkle the reserved oat mixture over the top of the apple layer. Press down lightly.
