Creamy and soothing with just a hint of cinnamon. Check it out and you will find that it is actually healthy for you. Another great Andrew Weil,MD recipe.(UPDATE-2006) It has been pointed out that this recipe does not live up to its name. I posted it as it was printed and although it does not meet low carb standards, it is a very delicious drink.

Ingredients

4 tablespoons cocoa powder (I like dutch cocoa)
2 tablespoons sugar (Splenda changes the taste)
4 tablespoons filtered water
12 ounces 1% low-fat milk
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
1 pinch cinnamon

Steps:

Mix cocoa & sugar together in saucepan.
Add water. Stir well.
Cook over med. heat until mixture comes to a boil and the sugar is dissolved.
Stir in milk, extracts and cinnamon.
Reduce heat to low & stir until warmed through.
Sit back, wrap your hands around the warm cup and enjoy.

4 cups milk
2/3 cup sugar
2/3 cup black cocoa powder
Pinch of salt
2 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped
3/4 cup mini marshmallows

Steps:

Heat the milk, sugar, cocoa powder and salt in a medium saucepan over medium-low heat. Cook, whisking, until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is smooth and steaming with tiny bubbles around the edge of the pan, 8 to 10 minutes.
Add the chocolate to the pan; whisk until fully dissolved and smooth. Keep warm.
Put the mini marshmallows in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave until puffy, 10 to 20 seconds. Stir with a fork until smooth, then let cool slightly.
Pour the hot cocoa into mugs. Using the fork, lift up some of the melted marshmallow and drape it over each mug, zigzagging strands of marshmallow across the top.
