BBQ RANCH DIPPING SAUCE

3/4 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoons Neelys BBQ seasoning, recipe follows
2 tablespoons Neelys BBQ sauce, recipe follows
2 teaspoons apple cider vinegar
3/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon dried dill
1 tablespoon sliced fresh chives
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
1 clove garlic, minced
1 1/2 cups paprika
3/4 cup sugar
3 3/4 tablespoons onion powder
2 cups ketchup
1 cup water
1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
5 tablespoons light brown sugar
5 tablespoons sugar
1/2 tablespoon fresh ground black pepper
1/2 tablespoon onion powder
1/2 tablespoon ground mustard
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Steps:

  • Mix in all the ingredients until smooth. Cover and chill for 1 hour to meld the flavors.
  • Add all ingredients to a bowl and stir until combined. Keep in an airtight container for up to 6 months.
  • In a large saucepan, combine all ingredients. Bring mixture to a boil, reduce heat to a simmer. Cook uncovered, stirring frequently, for 1 hour 15 minutes.

1 tablespoon olive oil
1 small onion, finely chopped
4 garlic cloves, minced
1 tablespoon mustard powder
1 teaspoon red-pepper flakes
3 tablespoons light-brown sugar
2 cups ketchup
1/3 cup Worcestershire sauce
1/3 cup cider vinegar
1 tablespoon molasses
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

Steps:

  • In a medium saucepan, heat oil over medium heat. Add onion and garlic; cook, stirring occasionally, until translucent, about 5 minutes. Stir in mustard powder and red-pepper flakes; cook 30 seconds.
  • Reduce heat to medium-low; stir in sugar, ketchup, Worcestershire, vinegar, molasses, and black pepper. Cook, stirring occasionally, until thickened, 5 to 10 minutes.

2 tablespoons vegetable oil
3/4 cup chopped yellow onion
2 tablespoons chopped garlic
4 cups ketchup
1/2 cup packed dark-brown sugar
2 tablespoons cane syrup
1/2 cup cider vinegar
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
3 tablespoons red hot sauce
2 tablespoons yellow mustard
2 tablespoons Creole Seasoning
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper, or more to taste

Steps:

  • Heat the oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. Add the onion and cook, stirring, for 4 minutes. Add the garlic and cook, stirring, for 1 minute. Add all the remaining ingredients, and bring to a boil. Lower the heat to a simmer and cook, stirring occasionally, until the sauce has thickened and the flavors have married, 15 to 20 minutes. This BBQ sauce is very common and well liked in the Madawaska County of Northern Maine US and New Brunswick Canada. It is most commonly used as a side dipping sauce for chicken, but is also used as a dressing for coleslaw instead of the typical creamy or vinegar ones we are used to seeing.

Steps:

  • Combine all the ingredients in a small pot on low heat.
  • Stir until the mixture is well blended and it is nice and hot. Do not let boil, the sauce will not stay blended properly, or that's what my grandmother told us. :-)
  • Once the sauce is hot remove from heat and let cool. Pour into a container and refrigerate. Enjoy with your next chicken dinner.
