MAKE-AHEAD PICNIC DELI SANDWICH
This is one sandwich that actually tastes better if made hours in advance which makes it a perfect choice for picnics or to take to an event. The amounts listed are only a guidline, you can adjust the amounts to taste.

Steps:
- Using a serrated knife horizontally slice about 1-inch off the top of the bread loaf.
- Pull the soft center from bottom half of the loaf, making a shell with about 1/2-inch thick walls (reserve the soft bread for another use).
- In a bowl mix the vinaigrette dressing with chopped cucumber, tomato and chives.
- Brush or spoon about half of the mixture evenly over the interior of the bread shell, also spooon enough dressing on the cut side of the loaf to moisten.
- Layer the cheese slices, then bell pepper slices, turkey, salami and onion in the shell.
- Sprinkle with black pepper if desired.
- Drizzle any remaining dressing over the filling.
- Set the bread top over filling.
- Wrap the sandwich in plastic wrap and chill for a minimum of 3 hours or up to 1 day.
- Unwrap and slice into desired portions.

SUMMER PICNIC SANDWICH RECIPE BY TASTY
Here's what you need: mayonnaise, fresh basil, salt, McCormick® Garlic Powder, lemon, sourdough loaf, ham, fresh mozzarella cheese, roasted red pepper, tomato, red onion, green olives

Steps:
- Mix together mayonnaise, basil, salt, McCormick® Garlic Powder, and lemon zest in a small bowl. Set aside.
- Cut off the top of the sourdough loaf and set aside. Use your fingers to pull out the bread inside to create a bowl. (Save the inner bread for making bread crumbs). Spread the basil-garlic spread along the inside of the bread and on the inside of the bread lid.
- Begin layering ingredients inside the bowl. Start with 2 slices of ham. Cover with fresh mozzarella slices. Make sure to create an even layer that fully covers the inside of the mozzarella slices. Make sure to create an even layer that fully covers the inside of the bread bowl. Top with a layer of roasted red pepper slices, another 2 slices of ham, and a layer of tomatoes.
- Sprinkle the tomatoes with salt and pepper. Scatter red onion and olives on top. Place bread lid on the sandwich to close.
- Wrap the sandwich in plastic wrap. Place a heavy pot or large can on top of the sandwich and let sit for 2 hours. Unwrap, slice, and serve!

- Slice about 1½ inches off the top of a large round loaf of bread. Hollow out the loaf, leaving about 1 inch of bread along sides and bottom. Hollow out center of top part, leaving about 1 inch of bread.
- Spread a condiment layer (see choices at left) inside the hollow loaf and on the underside of the top part. Beginning with meat (or bell pepper strips for Balsamic Veggie), layer half the toppings (except cheese and lettuce). Add another layer of condiment, then top with cheese and lettuce. Place top on filled sandwich and wrap tightly in plastic wrap. Store in refrigerator overnight with a heavy pan (cast iron is best) filled with heavy cans on top. Cut into wedges before serving.
