Malted Cocoa Mix Recipes

INSTANT MALTED MILK HOT COCOA

Steps:

• Sift the first six ingredients together in a large mixing bowl. Whisk together until thoroughly combined. Transfer to a large air-tight container or hermetic jar; top with chopped malted milk balls. Alternatively, divide the dry mix between 8 oz. jars and top each with some of the chopped malted milk balls. Lid and tie on a tag with mixing instructions.
• Mixing instructions: Place 4 tablespoons of mix with some of the chopped milk balls in the bottom of an 11 oz. mug. Pour in 1 cup of boiling water and stir until dissolved.
• Stored air-tight at room temperature, this mix will keep for 6 months.

MALTED HOT COCOA MIX

Steps:

• In large bowl, combine all ingredients and stir until well blended. Store in an airtight container. Keep in a cool place. To serve: In mug, pour 6 ounces of hot water over 1/3 cup cocoa mix, and stir until well blended.

CANDY CANE HOT COCOA MIX

Steps:

• In a large bowl, mix chocolate drink mix, malted milk powder and baking cocoa. In another bowl, mix confectioners' sugar and creamer., In each of four 1-pint canning jars, layer 3/4 cup nonfat dry milk powder, 3/4 cup chocolate mixture, 3 tablespoons chocolate chips, 1/3 cup confectioners' sugar mixture, 3 tablespoons chocolate chips and 1/4 cup candy canes, pouring ingredients through a large funnel or a waxed-paper cone. Press candy canes down to fit if needed., Cover and store in a cool, dry place up to 2 months (mixture will settle). To use, transfer contents of jar to a covered container; mix well., To prepare hot cocoa: Place 1/3 cup combined mix in a mug; stir in 3/4 cup hot water until blended.

HOT COCOA MIX

Steps:

• In a large mixing bowl, combine milk powder, confectioner's sugar, cocoa powder, and creamer. Stir till thoroughly combined. Store cocoa mixture in an airtight container. Makes about 15 cups mix, or enough for about 45 servings.
• For 1 serving, place 1/3 cup cocoa mixture in a coffee cup or mug, and add 3/4 cup boiling water. Stir to dissolve. Top with dollop of whipped cream or a few marshmallows, if desired.

HOT COCOA MIX IN A JAR

Steps:

• In a large bowl, combine powdered milk, chocolate pudding mix, chocolate drink mix powder, creamer, confectioners' sugar, and cocoa. Divide the mixture between two 1 quart jars. Seal, and decorate as desired. These can be stored in a dry area for up to 3 months.
• Attach a tag with the following instructions: Hot Cocoa: Dissolve 1/3 cup cocoa mix in 1 cup boiling water.

MALTED HOT COCOA MIX

Steps:

• In a large mixing bowl, combine all the ingredients until evenly mixed. Store in an airtight container.
• To serve: place 2 to 3 Tablespoons of the cocoa mix in a 6-ounce mug. Add boiling water. Stir to combine. Serve hot.

HOT MALTED CHOCOLATE

Steps:

• In a large saucepan, heat milk over medium heat until bubbles form around sides of pan., Meanwhile, in a small bowl, beat cream until it begins to thicken. Add sugar; beat until soft peaks form., Whisk chocolate chips and milk powder into milk until chocolate is melted. Remove from the heat; whisk in vanilla. Pour into mugs. Spoon whipped cream over the top.

MALTED HOT CHOCOLATE

Steps:

• In a medium saucepan, heat milk and vanilla over medium heat just until milk begins to steam, 5 to 6 minutes. Add chopped chocolate, and whisk until completely melted and combined.
• Pour malt powder into a warmed serving pitcher or another saucepan. Add hot chocolate mixture, whisking thoroughly until powder dissolves. Divide among four mugs; serve immediately.

MALTED COCOA MIX

Steps:

• Combine all ingredients in a bowl and whisk together. Store in an airtight container for up to 2 months.
• To make hot cocoa, combine 1/4 cup (or more, to taste) with 8 oz. of boiling water and whisk to combine (or place in an electric chocolate pot and use as directed).
• Top with homemade marshmallows for a totally decadent treat.
