Fruity Green Matcha Smoothie image

I created this matcha smoothie because I don't get enough fruit and veggies. I love carbs and I love meat. In the summer it's too hot to cook. I live in Japan and I have no central heating. This recipe is a quick and delicious way I can get all that's good for me without spending time in the kitchen! I usually eyeball everything so please tweak it to your taste!

¼ cup milk
4 tablespoons plain yogurt
½ cup frozen strawberries
¼ cup frozen mango chunks
1 tablespoon green tea powder (matcha)
1 tablespoon honey, or to taste
¼ cup fresh spinach leaves

Steps:

  • Combine milk, yogurt, strawberries, mangos, matcha, honey, and spinach in a blender, in that order. Process until smooth. Make sure you don't over-blend, this can affect the quality of your smoothie!

1 (1/2-inch) piece ginger, peeled, finely grated
1 3/4 cups frozen cubed mango
1 cup plain whole-milk yogurt
2 teaspoons matcha (green tea powder)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon agave syrup (optional)

Steps:

  • Purée ginger, mango, yogurt, matcha, vanilla, agave syrup, if using, and 1/2 cup cold water in a blender until smooth, then divide between glasses.
