This is a hearty hot, spicy dip that is delicious with corn chips. Tastes much different than you would imagine from the ingredients. Others who I have given this recipe to always want to leave out one ingredient or another. I don't recommend doing this, at least not the first time you make it, as I feel every single one of the ingredients adds something to the flavor.

Ingredients

1 pound ground beef
¾ cup chopped onion
2 cloves garlic, minced
¾ cup chopped green bell pepper
2 jalapeno peppers, seeded and chopped
¾ cup blanched slivered almonds
1 (2 ounce) jar pimento peppers, drained and chopped
¾ cup raisins
1 (8 ounce) can diced tomatoes, drained
1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
2 tablespoons white sugar, or to taste
1 tablespoon dried oregano
2 teaspoons salt

Steps:

Crumble the ground beef into a large skillet over medium heat. Cook, stirring to crumble, until starting to brown. Add the onion, garlic, bell pepper and jalapeno pepper, and cook until meat is no longer pink. Drain excess grease. Fill the pan with enough water to cover the beef, cover, and simmer over low heat for 30 minutes.
Stir in the almonds, pimentos, raisins, tomatoes, tomato paste and sugar. Season with oregano and salt. Simmer over low heat, stirring occasionally for at least 1 hour.

From my hometown community cookbook; given to me by my best friend. Called man dip because men seem to like it.

Ingredients

1 lb bulk sausage
1 lb lean ground beef
1 large onion, chopped
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt (I substitute 3-4 garlic cloves, cook in the skillet with the meats and onion)
pepper
2 lbs shredded Velveeta cheese
2 (10 1/2 ounce) cans cream of mushroom soup
1 -2 jalapeno pepper, chopped (optional)

Steps:

In a large skillet over medium heat, cook sausage, ground beef, and onion (and garlic) until meats are browned and onion is tender; drain off fat.
Add remaining ingredients; cook over medium heat until cheese is melted and mixture is heated through.
Serve warm with corn or tortilla chips.
**I usually pour this into a crockpot, on LOW, to keep this warm when serving to guests.

I have been making this recipe for years, I am unsure where I got it, however, this is one of those dips that will be gone in minutes. I found out MEN rant and rave over it! You will get many requests for the recipe! This has been a recipe that has been used for many parties and potlucks. Hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

Ingredients

8 ounces cream cheese (softened)
1/2 cup sour cream
2 tablespoons chopped green peppers
2 tablespoons milk
2 tablespoons chopped onions or 3 chopped green onions
1 (3 ounce) package Buddig beef

Steps:

Cut beef into bite size pieces. Set aside. Combine remaining ingredients. Mix well. Add beef. Place in small crock pot, heat on low. (fits perfect in a "dip" crock pot. Serve with fritoe scoops, pita chips or chip of your choice.
