2 bottles red wine, like a Rioja
2 cups brandy
1 cup fresh orange juice
1 orange, sliced
1 lemon, sliced
1 lime, sliced
1 apple, cored, and cut into thin wedges
1 pear, cored, and cut into thin wedges
1 bottle (750-ml size) club soda, chilled
brown or granulated sugar (for glass rims)
ice

Steps:

Combine the wine, brandy, juice, and fruit in a large container or glass pitcher. Cover and chill completely, 1 to 2 hours or overnight. Add soda to mixture when ready to serve. Using a little lime juice wet the rim of the glass and then coat it with brown or granulated sugar. Gently pour sangria into the glass. Serve with ice.

2/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup water
4 cups fruity red wine
1 1/2 cups orange juice
1 cup fresh lime juice
3/4 cup tequila
1/4 cup triple sec
1 -2 cup sparkling water
orange slice
lemon slice
lime slice

Steps:

boil the sugar and water together in a small saucepan until the sugar dissolves and the liquid is clear. set the syrup aside to cool.
in a large pitcher or punch bowl, mix together the sugar syrup, wine, juices, and liquors.
just before serving time, stir in the sparkling water. add the fruit slices and a lot of ice either to the sangria or to the individual glasses or cups.
serve chilled.
