2 cups frozen green beans
1/2 tablespoon garlic powder (or less if you are not a big garlic fan like me)
1 tablespoon grated parmesan cheese
1/4 cup breadcrumbs
1/2 tablespoon butter
1/4 cup pine nuts (optional, toasted)

Steps:

  • Place beans and garlic powder and 1/2 tbs of butter a microwave safe dish and nuke by package directions.
  • When done place 1/2 tbs butter in microwave and melt for about 30 seconds.
  • Mix butter and breadcumbs together and sprinkle on green beans.
  • Top with cheese and pine nuts if using.

1/2 teaspoon dried basil

Steps:

  • Place the beans and water in a 2-qt. microwave-safe dish. Cover and microwave on high for 3 to 4-1/2 minutes or until tender; set aside. In another dish, combine the remaining ingredients. Cover and cook on high for 1-1/2 minutes or until onion is tender. Drain beans. Drizzle with onion mixture; toss to coast.

1/2 cup hot water
1 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup slivered almonds
3 tablespoons margarine
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (good) (optional)
1/4 teaspoon pepper

Steps:

  • Wash and break the beans into 1 1/2 inch pieces into a 2 quart casserole dish.
  • Stir the hot water and salt until salt disolves.
  • Stir the water into the beans, cover and microwave on high 12-17 minutes, until tender crisp, stirring once halfway through.
  • Let stand 2-3 minutes, then drain.
  • Mix all the other ingredients into the beans, stirring until the margarine melts.
  • Heat on high in microwave till heated through (about 1- 1 1/2 minutes).
