2 tablespoons butter
1-1/2 pounds beef top sirloin steak, cut into thin strips
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 envelope onion soup mix
2-1/4 cups hot water
1 can (4 ounces) mushroom stems and pieces, drained
1/2 cup sour cream
Hot cooked noodles

Steps:

  • Melt butter in a 2-qt. microwave-safe dish; arrange meat evenly in dish. Microwave, uncovered, on high for 4-1/2 minutes, stirring once. Remove meat with a slotted spoon and keep warm., Stir flour and soup mix into drippings until blended. Gradually add water, stirring until smooth. Add mushrooms and beef., Cover and microwave on high for 13-14 minutes or until the meat is tender and the sauce is thickened, stirring several times. Stir in the sour cream. Serve with noodles.

Here's a simple way to prepare a Stroganoff. Just a few ingredients combined with beef and you have a whole meal in about thirty minutes.

1 pound ground beef
½ cup chopped onion
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon paprika
1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
1 cup sour cream
8 ounces macaroni

Steps:

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, saute the meat and onions for 10 minutes, or until the meat is browned and the onion is tender. Stir in the flour, salt and paprika. Then add the mushroom soup, mix well and cook, uncovered, for 20 minutes.
  • Reduce heat to low and add the sour cream, stirring well and allowing to heat through. Cover and set this mixture aside.
  • Cook the egg noodles according to package directions. Drain the water from the noodles and pour the meat mixture over the noodles.

1 (4 ounce) can sliced mushrooms, drained
1/2 cup sliced green onion
1/4 cup catsup
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup sour cream

Steps:

  • Crumble ground beef into 2 qt casserole. Cover. Microwave at High 4 to 5 minutes or until meat loses pink color, stirring halfway through cooking time. Do not drain.
  • Add all remaining ingredients except sour cream; mix well. Cover. Microwave at High 4 to 6 minutes or until heated through. Stir after 3 minutes.
  • Blend in sour cream. Microwave at High 1 ½ to 3 minutes or until hot. Stir once.

Beef Stroganoff is a creamy beef stew with mushrooms. It is a delicious meal which is good served with anything and at any occasion. Cooking beef stroganoff on stove top may seem difficult because a lot of process is involved but it is actually easy. This microwave recipe for beef stroganoff has made the process much easier. With this recipe, the cooking time is cut in half but you'll get an equally tasty dish. What I like about this dish is how well the cream, beef, mushrooms and the sweetness from onions go well together.

150 g thinly sliced beef (preferably from thigh part)
1 pinch salt
1 pinch pepper
30 g shiitake mushrooms
30 g maitake mushrooms
1/2 piece yellow onion
1 garlic clove
1 tablespoon flour
1 piece dried bay leaf
1 pinch dried thyme
200 ml heavy cream
5 g mixed sprouts
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper

Steps:

  • Slice the beef into about 2-centimeter pieces then sprinkle it with a pinch of salt and pepper then mix.
  • For the shiitake, separate the head from the stem part then slice each part thinly. For the maitake, you can use your hands to gently tear the mushroom into smaller pieces. You can also use a knife to slice it thinly.
  • Cut the onion in half then slice it thinly. For the garlic, mince it finely.
  • In a large microwave-safe bowl, combine the beef, mushrooms, onion and garlic. Add a tablespoon of flour then mix until the rest of the ingredients are evenly coated.
  • Next, add a piece of dried bay leaf and a pinch of dried thyme. Pour the heavy cream then mix all the ingredients well.
  • Cover the bowl or use a microwave-safe cling wrap. Put in the microwave then cook for 8 minutes using 600W.
  • Remove the bowl from the microwave then mix well. You can adjust taste by adding a quarter teaspoon more of salt and pepper. If you've used canned mushrooms, it might turn out a bit saltier so you don't need to add more salt.
  • Put some sprouts on top before serving it with rice or bread.
