MARS BAR SLICE

Mars Bar Slice image

A 5-ingredient, no-bake slice recipe that everyone will love.

Provided by Libby Hakim

Categories     Dessert

Time 20m

Number Of Ingredients 5

4 Mars bars ((53 gram bars))
3 cups rice bubbles
60 grams butter
2 teaspoons golden syrup
240 grams milk chocolate

Steps:

  • Grease a slice tin (around 27 x 17cm) with butter and then line with baking paper, leaving extra on each side (to pull the slice from the tin once cooked).
  • Measure rice bubbles into a large mixing bowl.
  • Break mars bars into pieces with your hands and put into a saucepan. Add butter and golden syrup.
  • Place saucepan on low heat while stirring to combine.
  • Keep stirring until the mixture reaches a smooth, runny consistency. Use a whisk to stir the mixture towards the end of the process to help get that completely smooth consistency. The mixture should resemble melted chocolate, with no lumps.
  • Add mixture to rice bubbles and stir quickly to combine.
  • Spread out mixture in the slice tin, spreading evenly to the edges and then pressing into the tin firmly with the back of a metal spoon. Place in fridge for 1/2 hour.
  • Melt chocolate in the microwave using 20 second bursts. (check and stir after each burst).
  • Pour melted chocolate over the slice and angle tin from edge to edge to help chocolate reach each side and corner of the slice tin.
  • Place in fridge for 15-30 minutes. Ideally, the chocolate shouldn't be completely set when cutting (it will crack as you're cutting if it's too hard). Alternatively, if you've left the slice in the fridge for longer just let the slice rest at room temperature for at least 20 minutes before cutting into squares.
  • Remove slice from tin by lifting edges of baking paper, cut into squares and return to the fridge.

MARS BAR SLICE

Mars Bar Slice image

Easy chocolate Mars Bar Slice made with just 4 ingredients.

Provided by Jessica Holmes

Categories     Slice

Time 2h

Number Of Ingredients 4

350 grams (2 and 1/3 cups) Mars Bars, roughly chopped
60 grams (1/4 cup) butter
140 grams (3 and 1/2 cups) Rice Krispies or Rice Bubble cereal
250 grams (1 and 1/3 cup) milk chocolate, roughly broken into pieces

Steps:

  • Line an 8-inch square pan with baking or parchment paper.
  • In a medium saucepan, add butter and Mars Bars. Place on a medium-low heat and gently stir until mixture is melted and combined. The mixture will look a little lumpy and won't ever be completely smooth - this is fine.
  • Tranfer mixture to a large mixing bowl. Add rice cereal and mix to combine - working quickly.
  • Pour mixture into prepared baking pan. Use the back of a spoon to press the mixture into one even layer. Pop in the fridge to set for at least 1 hour.
  • To serve, melt milk chocolate in the microwave until melted and smooth. Pour over slice and smooth out into one even layer. Place in the fridge for 30 minutes to set. Slice into small squares to serve.

MILO MARS BAR SLICE

Milo Mars Bar Slice image

Quick, fun and very easy to make this no-bake Milo Mars Bar Slice also tastes amazing. Filled with chocolate, caramel and milo cereal, these chocolate cereal treats are incredibly addictive.

Provided by Marie Roffey

Categories     Dessert     Snack     Sweets

Time 20m

Number Of Ingredients 7

6 x 53g mars bars ((318g / 11.2oz) (notes))
57 g unsalted butter ((¼ cup / ½ US stick))
1 tablespoon golden syrup ((notes))
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
¼ teaspoon table salt
3 ½ cups Milo cereal ((notes))
200 g milk chocolate, roughly chopped ((1 cup / 7oz))

Steps:

  • Line an 8 or 9 inch square baking tin with baking paper and set aside.
  • Roughly chop up 5 of the mars bars and add them along with the butter and golden syrup to a large saucepan over medium heat.
  • Stir constantly while heating to melt everything together. If it starts to bubble, remove from the or turn the heat down to low and keep stirring.
  • Once it's all melted add the vanilla and salt and stir to combine .
  • Add the Milo cereal and stir until all the cereal is coated.
  • Tip everything into the tin and press down with the spatula all over, pushing it right into the corners and edges. If cool enough you can use your hands. Make sure there aren't too many gaps in the top layer or the chocolate you top them with will escape.
  • Chill at least 1 hour.
  • Place the chocolate in a microwave safe bowl and melt in the microwave in 20 second burst, stirring really well between each. This should only take 1 minute. No longer or you risk burning it.
  • Pour it over the cold mars bar slice. Finely slice the last mars bar and place them randomly all over the top.
  • Let it set in the fridge for 1-2 hours before cutting into small pieces and serving.
  • Please take a moment to rate this recipe. I really appreciate it and it helps me create more recipes.

  • When set, cut the slice into squares.
