You can buy salt-free seasoning mixes in store, but this homemade Mrs. Dash seasoning recipe is a great one to try if you run out, or if you like to be able to customize your own spice mixes.

4 tbsp Garlic powder
2 tbsp Onion powder
1 tbsp Black pepper
1 tsp Cayenne pepper
1 tbsp Savory
1 tbsp Sage
1 tbsp Thyme
1 tbsp Marjoram
1 tbsp Parsley
1 tbsp Basil
1 tsp Mace
1 tsp Dried lemon zest ((optional))

Steps:

Combine all ingredients and store in an airtight container. If you prefer not to have large pieces of herbs in your food and would like to have the seasoning mix "disappear" into your cooking the way salt does, feel free to run the larger herbs through a coffee grinder before mixing them in.

Store in an airtight jar for up to 1 year.
