- In a large saucepan, combine grapes and 2 cups water; bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Press through a strainer; reserve juice and discard skins and seeds. , Pour juice through a double layer of cheesecloth into a 5-qt. slow cooker. Add the sugar, cloves, cinnamon sticks, nutmeg and remaining water. Cover and cook on low for 3 hours. Discard cloves and cinnamon sticks.

HOT GRAPE CIDER
Steps:
- In a slow cooker or medium stockpot, combine the grape juice, cinnamon, star anise, allspice, ginger and grapes. Bring to a simmer. Turn off the heat and let steep for at least 20 minutes before ladling into mugs.

This is a classic warmer-upper that you can serve on chilly winter days. Pass the brandy separately for those who want it.

- Place the cinnamon stick, cloves, allspice and bay leaf on a double thickness of cheesecloth; bring up corners of cloth and tie with kitchen string to form a bag. , In a large saucepan, combine the apple cider, juices, orange zest, brown sugar, salt and spice bag. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer mixture for 30 minutes to blend flavors. Discard spice bag. Strain cider mixture and stir in brandy if desired. Serve immediately.

- Peel the skin from the orange leaving the bitter white pith behind. Stick the cloves into the skin. Squeeze the juice from the orange and add to the 2-3/4 cups orange juice. Place all ingredients into a large nonreactive pan and bring to a boil over high heat. Remove from heat, cover and allow to stand at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to blend. Serve warm or cold.

- Mix the cider, juices, lemons, and oranges in a large saucepan or Dutch oven.
- Tie ginger and spices in a cheesecloth bag; add to saucepan.
- Heat to boiling; reduce heat.
- Simmer, uncovered, 15 minute
- Remove spice bag.
- Stir in brandy.
- Serve warm in chafing dish or heat-proof punch bowl.
- Serves 36 (1/2 cup each).

- Place cloves, allspice berries, and cinnamon stick pieces in the center of a small piece of cheesecloth. Bring the ends of the cheesecloth together and tie securely with kitchen string.
- Combine cider, brown sugar, and spice bag in a large kettle over medium-high heat; bring to a simmer. Simmer for 5 minutes. Discard spice bag.
- Serve in mugs with a lemon slice in each cup.
