Three incredible cheese balls with the flavors of pesto, horseradish-bacon and Gorgonzola make a dazzling display at any get-together. -Taste of Home Test Kitchen

Yield 3 large cheese balls (about 1 cup each).

Number Of Ingredients 17

2 packages (8 ounces each) cream cheese, softened
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 garlic cloves, minced
PESTO CHEESE BALL:
2 tablespoons prepared pesto
2 tablespoons minced fresh basil
HORSERADISH-BACON CHEESE BALL:
2 tablespoons prepared horseradish
1/2 cup crumbled cooked bacon
1 green onion, finely chopped
GORGONZOLA-CRANBERRY CHEESE BALL:
1/3 cup crumbled Gorgonzola cheese
1/3 cup dried cranberries
1/2 cup chopped walnuts, toasted
FOR SERVING:
Miniature pretzels, cooked bacon, dried cranberries, basil leaves and green onion, optional
Assorted crackers

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, beat cream cheese, Parmesan cheese and garlic until blended. Divide into 3 portions; place each in a small bowl., For Pesto Cheese Ball: Beat pesto into 1 portion of cheese mixture. Stir in basil. Shape into a ball., For Horseradish-Bacon Cheese Ball: Beat horseradish into second portion of cheese mixture. Stir in bacon and green onion. Shape into 1 large or 3 mini balls., For Gorgonzola-Cranberry Cheese Ball: Beat Gorgonzola cheese into third portion of cheese mixture. Stir in cranberries. Shape into a ball; roll in walnuts to coat., Cover and refrigerate at least 1 hour or until firm. Decorate as desired. Serve with crackers.

  • Blend all ingredients and roll in nuts!
  • Chill in refridgerator for about an hour.

This is a large cheeseball that is especially good at holidays. I put these cheeses together a long time ago and along with the garlic and onion it's a favorite of family and friends and a good combination. I've been bringing it to events for probably over 20 yrs by request. Find that it's even better if you make it couple days...

Number Of Ingredients 8

3 pkg 8 ounce (brick) philadelphia cream cheese
1 8 or 16 oz sharp cheddar cheese spread
1 jar(s) old english spread cheese (kraft 5 oz)
1 jar(s) pimento cheese spread (kraft 5 oz)
1 medium onion chopped by hand
1 Tbsp minced garlic
1 dash(es) pepper
1 large bag of chopped pecans or nuts of choice

Steps:

  • 1. Keep all cheeses in refrigerate before making. Add all ingredients in large bowl. Mix well.... i find using my hands work best and blends it better.
  • 2. When all blended well, form to a ball and wrap in saran wrap and refrigerate overnight or until day you are serving it.
  • 3. Pour bag of pecans or whatever nuts you want on wax paper. Roll cheese ball on the nuts and serve or wrap in foil and refrigerate for later.

250 g cream cheese
1 cup tasty cheese, grated
1 pickled onion, finely chopped
2 tablespoons parsley, finely chopped
2 tablespoons gherkins, finely chopped
1 tablespoon ketchup
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
Tabasco sauce, to taste
1/4 teaspoon paprika
1/4 cup nuts, chopped

Steps:

  • Beat cream cheese and cheese in a bowl until soft.
  • Add pickled onion, parsley, gherkin, ketchup, worcestershire and tabasco sauces and paprika.
  • Beat well to combine, shape into ball.
  • Roll in chopped nuts until well coated.
  • Wrap and chill until firm.

2 green onions, chopped

2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
