ORANGE NUT SQUARES
These are a really good bar for holidays

Steps:
- 1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Spread the cookie dough out on a cookie sheet to 1/4-inch thickness (about 9 inches by 12 inches) using your fingertips. Bake for 25 minutes. Let cool
- 2. Spread the marmalade over the cookie layer. Sprinkle with nuts.
- 3. In a double boiler over very lightly simmering water, melt the chocolate. Dip a spoon in the melted chocolate and drizzle on top of the cookie. Let cool.
- 4. Cut the cookie into 12 bars or squares. Serve or store in an airtight container.
ORANGE GLAZED DATE NUT BARS
This is adapted from "Simply Delicious Desserts" by Eagle Brand. Make sure you bake these long enough or they may be too chewy. These are a favorite with the older folks.

- In a large bowl combine all ingredients for bars. Mix well.
- Pour into greased and floured 13x9" pan.
- Bake for 30 minutes or until golden.
- Cool.
- In a small bowl, mix glaze ingredients until smooth.
- Pour evenly oven date bread.
- Cut into bars.

ORANGE SQUARES

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- In a large bowl, combine 2 cups flour, almonds, 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar, and 1 tsp orange zest.
- Cut in butter until mixture is crumbly.
- Press into bottom of a 13x9x2-inch baking pan.
- Bake for 20 minutes, or until lightly browned.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together sugar, eggs, orange juice, and extract.
- Combine remaining 1/4 cup flour and baking powder and add to sugar mixture, whisking to combine.
- Pour over crust.
- Bake for 20 minutes, or until set.
- Sprinkle with confectioners' sugar, if desired.
- Cut into squares to serve.
CHEWY ORANGE-DATE BARS
Use yellow cake mix to create citrus-flavored bars loaded with chewy dates and crunchy walnuts.

Steps:
- Heat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pan). Spray bottom and sides of 15x10x1-inch pan with baking spray with flour.
- In large bowl, beat cake mix, oats, butter, orange peel and eggs with electric mixer on medium speed about 1 minute or until batter is thick. Stir in dates and walnuts. Spread in pan.
- Bake 22 to 26 minutes or until top is golden brown and toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool on cooling rack 10 minutes. Run knife around sides of pan to loosen bars. Cool completely, about 1 hour 30 minutes. For bars, cut into 8 rows by 6 rows. Store covered.
