Steps:

• Bake, and cool cupcakes. (Before frosting cupcakes, the tops need to be almost flat so trim off any excess with a sharp paring knife, if needed.) Frost cupcakes and decorate tops with upside down chocolate chips for eyes (or candy eyes) and pacifiers.

BABY PACIFIER CUPCAKES

Steps:

• Bake cupcakes or buy them ready made without frosting.
• Color the vanilla frosting for the baby's skin by mixing 2 drops of yellow and 1 drop of red food coloring. Add more food coloring for desired skin tone. For darker skin use chocolate frosting.
• Frost the cupcakes with the flesh colored frosting.
• Place a pacifier into the bottom half of the cupcake.
• Use a black edible marker to customize the candy eyeballs. Draw larger pupils or make them cross-eyed.
• Place candy eyeballs on the cupcake to finish out your baby pacifier cupcakes.

VANILLA CUPCAKES

Steps:

• Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Line a 12-cup muffin pan with paper liners. Whisk the flour, baking powder and salt in a bowl. Beat the butter and sugar in a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment on medium-high speed until fluffy, about 4 minutes. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, scraping down the bowl as needed. Beat in the vanilla. Reduce the mixer speed to medium low; beat in half of the flour mixture, then all of the milk, then the remaining flour mixture until just combined.
• Divide the batter among the muffin cups, filling each three-quarters full. Bake until a toothpick inserted into the center of a cupcake comes out clean, 18 to 20 minutes, rotating the pan halfway through. Transfer the pan to a rack and let cool 5 minutes, then remove the cupcakes to the rack to cool completely. Top with Frosting.
• Whisk the egg whites, sugar and salt in a heatproof bowl set over a saucepan of simmering water (do not let the bowl touch the water) until the mixture is warm and the sugar dissolves. Remove the bowl from the pan; let cool slightly.
• Beat the egg white mixture in a stand mixer fitted with the whisk attachment (or with a hand mixer) on medium-high speed until stiff peaks form, 12 to 15 minutes. • Half fill each muffin paper with batter.

Steps:

• Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Line 36 muffin cups with paper liners.
• In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda and 1 teaspoon salt. Make a well in the center and pour in the eggs, 1 cup milk, water, oil and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Mix well. Fill each muffin cup half-full of batter.
• Bake in the preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Allow to cool.
• Make filling: In a large bowl, beat butter and shortening together until smooth. Blend in confectioners' sugar and pinch of salt. Gradually beat in 3 tablespoons milk and 1 teaspoon vanilla. beat until light and fluffy. Fill a pastry bag with a small tip. Push tip through bottom of paper liner to fill each cupcake.
