5 Minute Fluffy Flourless Paleo Hamburger Buns image

Extra fluffy and easy to make paleo hamburger buns will leave you wondering why you ever loved the grain filled life in the first place. These grain free hamburger buns are yeast free and only take 5 minute to prepare!

Yield 4 hamburger buns

Number Of Ingredients 8

3/4 cup cassava flour (Anthony's Goods brand for best results.)
3 tablespoons psyllium husk powder
4 large eggs
1/2 cup apple sauce
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
egg wash (to make the egg wash, just whip one egg.)
sesame seeds (for sprinkling on top)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a food processor combine all the ingredients for the hamburger buns. Puree until the dough is smooth.
  • Divide the dough into four equal parts and shape into a round ball (if the dough is sticking, coat your hands in water and then shape the dough). Pat the round buns down into a dome shape. Brush the buns with egg wash and then sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  • Bake on 400F for about 22-25 minutes until golden brown.

These Paleo Hamburger buns are sturdy and can hold your heftiest burger!

1/2 cup raw Cashews
1/2 cup tapioca flour
1/4 cup coconut flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
2 large eggs
1/2 cup water
1/2 teaspoon apple cider vinegar

Steps:

  • Set out your nonstick hamburger pan. If your nonstick has ever been washed in a dishwasher it has lost it's ability to stick properly so grease the pan with coconut oil, lard or sustainably raised palm shortening.
  • Place your cashews in your blender or food processor and grind into a flour.
  • Then add in the rest of the ingredients.
  • Blend completely until you have a batter.
  • Pour the batter into your nonstick hamburger bun pan and bake at 350 degrees for 25 - 30 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool.
  • You can slice the buns in half if you would like.

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the almond flour, tapioca, flaxseed meal, baking powder and baking soda and salt.
  • In a measuring cup, combine the oil, water, vinegar, and honey. Make a well in the dry ingredients and pour this mixture into the well, then stir. Add the eggs one at a time until well combined and a thick batter/sticky dough forms.
  • Using a large scoop or spoon scoop the batter in about 1/4-1/3 cup scoops onto the prepared baking sheet about 2” apart to make 8-10 hamburger buns. You might need two baking sheets for all the buns. Whisk together the egg white and water in a small bowl and brush over the tops, then sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired.
