PEGGY'S FROSTED BANANA BARS
This banana cookie bar recipe was given to me years ago by a friend in Nebraska; they come out perfect every time!

Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Butter a 10x15-inch rimmed baking pan.
- Beat 1/2 cup butter and white sugar together in a bowl using an electric mixer until creamy. Beat in bananas, eggs, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
- Combine flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl. Add to the banana mixture and mix well. Pour into the prepared pan.
- Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, 25 to 30 minutes. Cool on a wire rack for 5 minutes. Run a table knife around the edges to loosen. Invert carefully onto a serving plate or cooling rack. Let cool, about 30 minutes.
- Beat cream cheese and 1/2 cup butter together in a bowl using an electric mixer until fluffy. Add confectioners' sugar and 2 teaspoons vanilla extract gradually; beat well. Spread frosting over the cooled bars and sprinkle walnuts on top.

- In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy, 5-7 minutes. Beat in the eggs, bananas and vanilla. Combine the flour, baking soda and salt; stir into creamed mixture just until blended., Transfer to a greased 15x10x1-in. baking pan. Bake at 350° for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool in pan on a wire rack., For frosting, in a small bowl, beat cream cheese and butter until fluffy. Add confectioners' sugar and vanilla; beat until smooth. Frost bars.

Steps:
- Heat oven to 375 degrees. Spray 9x9" pan.
- Beat sugar, sour cream, butter, and egg whites in large bowl for 1 minute on low speed, scraping bowl occasionally.
- Beat in bananas and vanilla on low speed for 30 seconds.
- Beat in flour, salt, and baking soda for 1 minute.
- Stir in walnuts (if desired) until well blended.
- Spread in pan.
- Bake 20-25 minutes until light brown.
- Cool completely.
- For frosting, combine sugar, butter, vanilla, and milk until well blended and desired consistency.
