3/4 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup white syrup
1/4 cup shortening, melted
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
3/4 cup rolled oats (either quick cooking or regular,uncooked)
1/3 cup coconut (optional)
Cool Whip (optional)
1 pie crust (unbaked)

Steps:

  • Beat eggs until foamy.
  • Gradually add sugar.
  • Stir in remaining ingredients except Cool Whip or pie shell.
  • Place mixture into unbaked pie shell.
  • Bake 45 minutes at 350 degrees or until center is firm.
  • Top with Cool Whip after pie is cooled,if desired.

I have had this one for about 17 yrs. I was flaging beside a little lady house and she was always cooking something for me.

1 cup(s) waffle syrup
2 - beaten eggs
3/4 cup(s) suger
1 cup(s) quick oatmeal
1 stick(s) margarine melted
2 tablespoon(s) pecans, in pieces i use 1/2 cup

Steps:

  • Mix all ingredients well
  • Pour into unbaked pie shells and bake at 350 for 35 mins

I had this delicious pie at a pie social in the small community of Freisland WI the woman told me how to make it. Since I didn't have paper and pen, my sister memorized the first half and I memorized the second half. That's team work.

1 cup(s) coconut
3/4 cup(s) light corn syrup
3/4 cup(s) regular oatmeal
1 stick(s) butter, melted
2 - eggs, beaten
1/2 cup(s) brown sugar
1/2 cup(s) white sugar
1 teaspoon(s) vanilla
1/2 cup(s) walnut pieces
1 - unbaked 9 inch pie shell

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Combine all ingredients except nuts and pie shell in a bowl. Pour into pie shell
  • Sprinkle with walnut pieces
  • Bake 425 degree oven for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 degrees and bake 20-25 minutes more.
