Lightly breaded and deep-fried, ravioli goes to a new level in this nacho-like appetizer. Kids and grown-ups can't get enough of the crispy, cheesy, flavorful crowd pleasers.-Robert Doornbos, Jenison, Michigan

1 package (25 ounces) frozen cheese ravioli
1 package (25 ounces) frozen sausage ravioli
3 large eggs, lightly beaten
2 cups seasoned bread crumbs
2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/8 teaspoon garlic salt
Oil for deep-fat frying
3/4 cup Alfredo sauce
3/4 cup spaghetti sauce
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
5 green onions, sliced
1 can (3.8 ounces) sliced ripe olives, drained
Additional spaghetti sauce, optional

Steps:

  • Cook ravioli according to package directions. Drain and pat dry. Place eggs in a shallow bowl. In another shallow bowl, combine the bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, pepper flakes, pepper and garlic salt. Dip ravioli in the eggs, then bread crumb mixture., In an electric skillet or deep-fat fryer, heat oil to 375°. Fry ravioli, a few at a time, for 1-2 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Drain on paper towels., Arrange ravioli in an ungreased 15x10x1-in. baking pan. Spoon sauces over ravioli; sprinkle with cheddar cheese. , Bake at 350° for 3-5 minutes or until cheese is melted. Sprinkle with onions and olives. Serve immediately with additional spaghetti sauce if desired.

1 cup frozen small whole onions (from 1-lb bag)
1 jar (26 oz) sun-dried tomato pasta sauce
1 jar (4.5 oz) whole mushrooms, drained
1 package (9 oz) refrigerated cheese-filled ravioli
1 cup water

Steps:

  • In 12-inch skillet, cook ground beef and onions over medium heat 8 to 10 minutes, stirring frequently, until beef is thoroughly cooked; drain.
  • Add remaining ingredients; heat to boiling. Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer 20 to 25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until sauce is thoroughly heated and ravioli are tender.

1 lb cheese ravioli, cooked according to package direction and drained
1 cup reduced-fat refried beans with green chilies
1/4 cup salsa
shredded reduced-fat sharp cheddar cheese
1 cup shredded lettuce
1 cup chopped tomato
2 tablespoons chopped ripe olives
1 tablespoon chopped cilantro

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, combine beans and salsa. Arrange ravioli in a single layer on a large microwave-safe platter.
  • Spoon bean mixture onto ravioli; sprinkle with cheese.
  • Microwave on High 4 to 5 minutes or until cheese begins to melt.
  • Top with remaining ingredients.
  • Serve with light sour cream, if desired.
  • To make ahead: Cook ravioli several hours ahead and arrange on platter; cover and refrigerate.
  • Chop toppings and wrap in plastic wrap; refrigerate.
  • Assemble as directed.
  • Increase microwave time by 2 minutes turning platter halfway through cooking time.

1 large egg
¾ cup chocolate-hazelnut spread (such as Nutella®)
1 (16 ounce) package wonton wrappers
2 cups canola oil for frying, or as needed
¼ cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 ½ cups miniature marshmallows
¼ cup hot fudge topping
5 ounces jarred roasted chestnuts, coarsely chopped
½ cup powdered sugar, or to taste

Steps:

  • Beat egg in a bowl and set aside.
  • Put chocolate-hazelnut spread in a zip-top bag, snip a small corner of the bag, and set aside. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Separate wonton wrappers.
  • Heat oil in a deep-fryer or large saucepan to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Put about 1 teaspoon chocolate spread in the center of each wrap; reserve any remaining spread for another use. Add a few chocolate chips and 4 to 5 mini marshmallows. Brush the egg wash around the outer edges.
  • Take another wrap and lay on top of each wonton and seal all around. Pinch the edges to make it fancy.
  • Drop the wontons in the hot oil, working in batches if needed, for 30 seconds only. Transfer to a wire rack to drain excess oil.
  • Plate wontons. Drizzle with hot fudge sauce, top with crushed roasted chestnuts, and dust with powdered sugar.

  • Line a rimmed baking sheet with aluminum foil. Place a wire rack in a second rimmed baking sheet lined with paper towels. Pour enough oil in a large, deep pot so it reaches a depth of 1 inch. Heat oil over medium heat until it reaches 325°F.
  • While oil heats, combine eggs, hot sauce, and water in a shallow dish. Place breadcrumbs in a second shallow dish. Toss ravioli in egg mixture, and allow excess to drip off; coat in breadcrumbs. Place breaded ravioli on foil-lined baking sheet. Fry ravioli, in batches, until golden brown, about 3 minutes. Using a slottled spoon, transfer fried ravioli to wire rack to drain.
  • Preheat broiler with rack 6 inches from heat. Arrange fried ravioli in a single layer on baking sheet, slightly overlapping; top with chicken, and sprinkle with cheese. Broil until cheese is bubbly, about 2 minutes.
  • Whisk together sour cream and lime juice in a small bowl. Top nachos with pico de gallo, guacamole, cilantro, black olives, and, if desired, jalapeño slices. Drizzle with lime cream.
