SLOW COOKER REDNECK RICE



Slow Cooker Redneck Rice image

2 c instant rice
1 can(s) diced tomatoes
1 c hunt's original barbecue sauce
3/4 c sweet & sour sauce
1/3 bell pepper, chopped
1/3 c onion, chopped (optional)
1 Tbsp butter or margarine
1/2 tsp or more salt to taste
1 Tbsp parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • 1. Add rice to crock pot. Add 1 cup water. Add tomatoes, barbecue sauce and sweet and sour sauce. Mix well.
  • 2. Add bell pepper and (optional) onions, stirring well. Set slow cooker on low and cook 1.5 hours. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese before serving.

4 tablespoons bacon drippings
1 tablespoon seasoning salt
1 tablespoon fresh coarse ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon celery salt
1/4 teaspoon garlic salt

Steps:

  • steam rice until done. heat bacon drippings and seasonings in a small saucepan. put rice in serving bowl and pour hot ingredients over. mix well.
