HOMEMADE SALTINE CRACKERS RECIPE
Steps:
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
- In a medium bowl, mix the flour and salt. Add the melted butter and water to the flour mixture. You may have to use your hands. Mix well.
- Turn the dough out of the bowl onto a floured surface and roll out the dough with a rolling pin as thin as possible, approximately ⅛-inch or thinner. Cut into cracker shapes and place the dough pieces in a single layer onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each.
- Bake on the center rack in the oven for 15 minutes or until crispy.
- Allow the crackers to cool. Serve at room temperature.

CRACKERS JUST LIKE SALTINES - HOMEMADE
These are good crackers that remind me of saltines :-) Found this recipe online a long time ago (cant remember how many crackers this makes as it has been a long time since Ive made these, sorry!!! so please dont take my servings as exact, because i really cant remember)

Steps:
- Mix flour, baking powder,& shortening and then add milk; blend well.
- Form a ball with the dough and divide into 4 sections.
- Roll 1 section out very thin (about 1/8 to 3/16-inches) -- making sure it is rolled out EVENLY -- and cut with a cookie cutter (you can use all shapes!) or a pastry wheel with the crinkled edges, and repeat with other sections.
- place on an ungreased cookie sheet& prick the dough with a fork several times and sprinkle with salt.
- Bake at 375 for 12-20 minutes until golden brown, but be careful not to burn!
MEATLOAF WITH SALTINE CRACKERS
Saltine cracker crumbs replace the usual breadcrumbs in this family-friendly meatloaf with a sweet glaze.

- Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper, then fit the sheet with a wire rack. Brush a 10-by-5-by-3-inch loaf pan with olive oil and place on rack; set aside. Place saltines in the bowl of a food processor fitted with the steel blade; pulse until fine crumbs form. You should have about 1 cup crumbs. Transfer to a large bowl and add ground beef.
- On the large holes of a box grater, grate carrot (should measure 1 cup grated) and onion (about 2/3 cup grated). Drain excess juice from onion. Add carrot and onion to meat mixture, then grate garlic on the fine holes of the grater (1 teaspoon). Add to bowl along with parsley, eggs, 1/2 cup ketchup, Worcestershire, 1 tablespoon Dijon, salt and pepper. Use hands to combine thoroughly. Transfer to prepared loaf pan.
- Combine remaining 1/2 cup ketchup, 1 tablespoon Dijon and brown sugar in a small bowl. Stir until smooth and no sugar lumps remain.
- Spread mixture evenly over top of meatloaf. Place in oven, atop wire rack and bake until a meat thermometer inserted into the center reads 160 degrees, about 1 hour 30 minutes. Tent with foil if top begins to brown too quickly. Remove from oven and let cool 1 hour before slicing. Serve.

- Preheat oven to 350°. Line a 15x10x1-in. baking pan with foil; grease foil. Arrange saltines in a single layer on foil., In a large heavy saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in brown sugar. Bring to a boil; cook and stir 3-4 minutes or until sugar is dissolved. Spread evenly over crackers., Bake 8-10 minutes or until bubbly. Immediately sprinkle with chocolate chips. Allow chips to soften for a few minutes, then spread over top. Sprinkle with pecans. Cool slightly., Refrigerate, uncovered, 1 hour or until set. Break into pieces. Store in an airtight container.
