PIKELETS (SCOTTISH PANCAKES)

Pikelets (Scottish Pancakes) image

My Aussie friend uses this recipe as her standard pancake recipe. Pikelets are the Scottish version of the southern British crumpet. They are also great for afternoon teas. Serve with fresh-squeezed lemon juice and sugar, or with butter and jam. I always thought that I had the best pancake recipe in the world until I tried these!

Scottish Apple Soda (Cocktail) image

I came across this recipe and just had to post it! Drambuie was first commercially bottled in Edinburgh in 1909. The original royal spirit was enjoyed by Bonnie Prince Charlie in 1745. Refreshing and fruity taste - a great way to enjoy Drambuie as a long fruity drink. I got this from Drambuie's website. Enjoy!

Apple Charlotte is a British dessert that is made with apples and white bread and baked in a molded pan. This recipe is easier to make and tastes just as delicious, if not better. • Blue Blazer. The Hot Toddy is a classic wintertime drink that has been enjoyed for generations. This variation on the original recipe features scotch as its base, which imparts sweet flavors with hints of cinnamon and honey when combined with sugar.
  • Mamie Taylor. This stunning cocktail has become a popular variation of the Scotch recipe during the early 20th century. Its ingredients are carefully selected to deliver maximum refreshment and taste, but the formula still follows the simple recipe of a whisky highball.
  • Bobby Burns. This Scotch cocktail recipe is one of the most classic cocktails that date back to what is commonly known as the golden age of adult beverages.
  • Rusty Nail. The Rusty Nail is a simple scotch cocktail recipe that has been around in bars and restaurants for decades already. It is one of the classics and is perfect as a nightcap after taking your dinner.
  • Scotch And Soda. The simple Scotch And Soda recipe is a match made in heaven. You may think that such a cocktail that uses only two ingredients would not be able to deliver much in terms of taste, but this unique combination is still able to make a drink that is much more than each of its ingredients.
  • Blood & Sand. The Blood & Sand cocktail has risen to popularity and become an instant classic since its invention way back in 1930. Its two main ingredients, scotch, and vermouth are given a blood-red color by Heering cherry liqueur.
  • Bee Sting. The use of exotic ingredients gives this Scotch cocktail a taste that is unlike any other. Bärenjäger, a German honey liqueur, adds an extra sweet and botanical flavor to the drink while Fernet-Branca cools it down with its bitterness in every sip you take!
  • Penicillin Cocktail. The Penicillin is a modern classic cocktail with an excellent Whiskey Sour-like taste. The peaty flavors are beautifully highlighted in the mix, which you'll enjoy even if Scotch isn't your native drink!
  • Scotch Sour. Would you like to try a cocktail that’s both refreshing and unique? One way is by mixing it with the perfect Scotch. This drink has an initial tartness but finishes smoky due to peat-smoke flavors from scotch blended in!
  • Godfather. If you are looking for a drink that has both the sweet flavor of amaretto and spicy finish, then this Scotch cocktail is just what your inner self needs.
