Honey Sesame Almonds image

These Honey Sesame Almonds are a healthy snack for eating on the go. Minimal prep work and ingredients required!

1 cup raw almonds, (unsalted)
1/8 cup raw honey
1 Tablespoon brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 cup sesame seeds

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Spread the almonds on the baking sheet in a single layer and roast in the oven for 10 minutes, until the almonds begin to smell toasty. Remove right away to ensure they do not burn.
  • While the almonds are roasting in the oven, heat a small saucepan over low heat and add the honey, brown sugar and salt. Stir constantly for about 1 minute. Pour the honey mixture over the almonds while the almonds are still on the baking sheet. Use a spoon to stir the almonds around so they are coated on all sides.
  • You can coat with the sesame seeds in one of two ways. Either pour the seeds over the almonds directly on the baking sheet and stir the almonds around to coat. Or, put the sesame seeds in a bowl and in small batches pour the almonds in the bowl and toss around to coat.
  • When the almonds are coated with the seeds, return them to the oven to roast for another 7 minutes. Remove the baking sheet from the oven and allow the almonds to cool completely before storing them in an airtight container.

2 cups whole almonds
¼ cup white sugar
½ teaspoon kosher salt
3 tablespoons honey
3 tablespoons water
1 tablespoon almond oil

Steps:

  • Spread almonds in a single layer on a baking sheet and place in a cold oven.
  • Turn oven on to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Bake almonds, stirring occasionally, until light tan and fragrant, 12 to 15 minutes. The nuts will continue to cook after removing from oven.
  • Meanwhile, mix sugar and salt together in a small bowl; sprinkle about 1 tablespoon sugar mixture into a large bowl.
  • Stir honey, water, and almond oil together in a saucepan; bring to a boil. Add almonds; cook and stir until almonds have absorbed all the liquid, about 5 minutes.
  • Transfer coated almonds to the large bowl sprinkled with sugar mixture. Sprinkle remaining sugar mixture over almonds; toss to coat evenly.
  • Spread almonds onto waxed paper to cool completely. Store at room temperature in a tightly covered container or plastic bag.

Smoky and sweet, skillet-roasted almonds glazed with a generous coat of honey and satisfying sesame seeds. Honey Sesame Almonds are the new go-to snack.

1 tablespoon + 2 teaspoons coconut oil
2 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon dark brown sugar
¼ teaspoon salt
2 cups toasted, unsalted almonds
3 tablespoons sesame seeds, raw and untoasted

Steps:

  • Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.. Set aside for later.
  • Place a large skillet over medium-low heat. Add coconut oil, honey, brown sugar and salt. Stir until melted and smooth.
  • Increase heat to medium, stir in almonds. Stir occasionally, allowing almonds to soak in the honey mixture. Watch the almonds closely. This will take 5-10 minutes, until the honey mixture is warm and bubbly.
  • Now, decrease the heat to low. Add in sesame seeds. Stir frequently, until the sesame seeds are well coated and there is just a bit of honey mixture left in the skillet. This will take 4-8 minutes.
  • Pour almonds onto the prepared baking sheet, creating an even layer. Set baking sheet on a cooling rack. Allow to cool for 1 hour.
  • Break apart by hand. Enjoy!
