- Cook pasta as directed on package, omitting salt.
- Meanwhile, heat oil in large nonstick skillet on medium heat. Add sausage and peppers; cook and stir 5 min. or until sausage is lightly browned and peppers are crisp-tender. Stir in Alfredo sauce and water; cook 3 min. or until heated through, stirring occasionally.
- Drain pasta; place in large bowl. Add sausage mixture and cheese; mix lightly.

My Nana used to cook this for me when I was young and as she prepared things and we waited for the sauce to finish, she'd tell me great stories about her life in Sicily and other secret business! This recipe is the best sauce I've ever had- I really think it can bring the family together. Just prepare it and you'll see that when dinner time comes everyone's mouths will be watering because of the great smell, the entire family can gather around the table and there will be enough for everyone, I promise! Good for vegetarians too-just substitute 2 1/2 pounds of chopped zucchini for the meatballs.

- In a large pot mix together garlic, tomato sauce, tomato paste, parsley and basil. Bring sauce to a boil and then turn down the heat and simmer.
- In a large bowl mix together the ground beef, ground pork, bread crumbs, parmesan cheese, garlic powder and parsley. Shape into balls the size of a child's fist. In a skillet, fry meatballs in hot olive oil until brown. Add to sauce mixture. Simmer over low heat for four hours.

- Preheat oven to 350°. Cook noodles according to package directions. , Meanwhile, in a large skillet, cook beef, onion and green pepper over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain. Stir in tomato paste, water, 1 teaspoon sugar, salt, basil, garlic powder, chili powder and 1/8 teaspoon pepper., In a large saucepan, saute green onion in oil until tender. Add cream cheese and milk; stir until blended. Stir in 1/3 cup cheese, and remaining sugar and pepper. Drain noodles; stir into cheese mixture., In a greased 8-in. square baking dish, arrange alternate rows of beef and noodle mixtures. Sprinkle with remaining cheese. Cover and bake 20-25 minutes or until bubbly.

This is another Kraft recipe from several years ago. I started making it in 1980 and we find it very good. The noodles with the cream cheese next to the beef mixture is refreshing.

Steps:
- Brown beef and drain.
- Add onion and cook until tender.
- Stir in tomato paste, water, salt, and garlic powder.
- Simmer 5 minutes.
- In a separate pan, sauté the bell pepper in butter.
- Add the cream cheese and milk stirring until the cheese is melted.
- Stir in parmesan, salt and noodles.
- In a 10x6-inch baking dish alternate stripes or crosswise rows of meat and then noodles.
- It should be a row of meat, a row of the noodle mixture, meat mixture etc.
- Bake at 350F for for 20 minutes.

Steps:
- Brown meat, onion, bell pepper, chopped garlic. When meat & veggies are done, drain fat from meat. Add tomato paste, water, salt, pepper. Simmer for about 5 minutes.
- In a separate pan, heat milk, cream cheese, garlic powder and parmesan cheese. Combine cheese mixture & noodles together. Spray a baking dish. Alternate layers of meat mixture & noodles. Start with meat.
- Bake @ 350 degrees for 20 minutes or so. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese & bake 10 minutes longer.

SICILIAN SUPPER
I found this yummy recipe at a busy cooks website, and wanted to share it. It is like a goulash, but with the added cream cheese & milk, it was so creamy. Even my non-spaghetti eating, picky child loved this dish! We didn't have any parmesean grated cheese so i substituted 4 cheese mexican blend instead, and it was still great. I also like to make things as easy as possible, so I buy frozen chopped green peppers and onions, and just added them to the sauce rather than the green peppers to the macaroni mix.

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Brown ground beef, garlic, and onion in heavy saucepan, stirring to break up ground beef. Drain well. Add spaghetti sauce and stir well to blend. Let simmer for 10 minutes to blend flavors.
- Meanwhile, cook elbow macaroni as directed on package. While macaroni is cooking, combine cream cheese and milk in medium bowl. Cook in microwave on medium power for 2-3 minutes, stirring once halfway through cooking. Remove from microwave and stir with wire whisk until sauce blends. Drain noodles and add to cream cheese sauce along with sour cream, green pepper, and 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese.
- In 2 quart casserole dish, place all of cream cheese mixture. Top with all of the ground beef mixture and sprinkle with remaining 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-30 minutes until casserole is bubbly.
- To freeze, add 1 tablespoons cornstarch to the cream cheese sauce. Prepare casserole as directed, except instead of baking, chill in refrigerator. Wrap well and freeze up to 3 months. To thaw and reheat, thaw casserole overnight in refrigerator. Bake, covered, for 25-30 minutes until hot. Uncover, sprinkle with more Parmesan cheese, and bake 5-10 minutes longer until bubbly.
