CHIA SEED LEMONADE

10 oz lemonade (or pink lemonade )
1 tsp chia seeds
1 strawberries (sliced)
1 lemon

Steps:

  • Mix lemonade and chia seeds and refrigerate. Stir occasionally while chia seeds plump up (about 20 minutes).
  • Serve with strawberry and lemon wedge for garnish.
  • Note: you can make your own lemonade! First make a simple syrup. Combine 1 cup sugar and 1 cup water in a small saucepan and bring to a boil. Turn off heat and let simple syrup cool completely. Combine simple syrup with additional water and fresh lemon juice to desired taste.

This recipe for chia seed lemonade (chia fresca) is healthy and delicious! The chia seeds add a fun texture to the water. Add a bit of sweetener to make it more like lemonade, or leave the sweetener out to make more of a chia seed lemon water. Both are delicious!

1 cup water
2 tsp chia seeds
1/2 lemon (juice)
1 tsp sweetener (optional)

Steps:

  • Into a glass or glass jar, add the water. Then add the chia seeds and juice from half a lemon.
  • Add the sweetener, if desired.
  • Stir, then put in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to infuse and allow the chia seeds to plump up.
  • After 30 minutes, remove from the refrigerator and stir once more to combine before drinking.
