Margaritas image

My favorite margarita recipe is made with just 3 easy ingredients! See instructions below for how to make a single serving or a big pitcher for a party.

Provided by Ali

Time 5m

Number Of Ingredients 12

1 1/2 ounces silver tequila
1 ounce orange liqueur (Cointreau, Grand Marnier or Triple Sec)
3/4 ounce freshly-squeezed lime juice
optional sweetener: agave nectar or simple syrup, to taste
ice
lime wedge and coarse salt for rimming the glass
3 cups silver tequila
2 cups orange liqueur (Cointreau, Grand Marnier or Triple Sec)
1 1/2 cups freshly-squeezed lime juice
optional sweetener: agave nectar or simple syrup, to taste
ice
lime wedges and coarse salt for rimming the glasses

Steps:

  • Run a lime wedge (the juicy part) around the top rim of your serving glass. Fill a shallow bowl or plate with salt, then dip the rim until it is covered with your desired amount of salt. Set aside.
  • Add tequila, orange liqueur, lime juice and a few ice cubes to a cocktail shaker. Cover and shake vigorously for about 10 seconds. Give the mix a taste and stir in a teaspoon or two of sweetener if desired.
  • Fill the prepared serving glass with ice. Strain in the margarita mix, garnish with a lime slice, serve and enjoy. Cheers!

2 ounces freshly squeezed lime juice
1 ounce Simple Syrup, recipe follows
1/2 to 1 teaspoon orange liqueur

Strain margarita into the glass.

  • Blend together lime, salt and sugar in a small blender or mini food chopper.

This margarita comes together in under a minute. It's fit for a weeknight single serving. Come the weekend, I double this recipe and still call it a single serving. It's smooth and wont make your lips pucker and your eyes wince. Line the rim of the glass with salt, if that's your thing. Serve with your favorite Mexican dish.

MARGARITA RECIPE

Margarita Recipe image

Provided by Jessica

Categories     Drinks

Number Of Ingredients 6

2 ounces Grand Marnier
1 1/2 ounces Tequila
2 ounces lime juice
1 1/2 ounces simple syrup
orange + lemon + lime slices for garnish
salt for the rim

Steps:

  • Rim the ridge of your glass with a lime wedge and dip in margarita salt. Fill the glass with ice. In a cocktail shaker, combine tequila, grand marnier, simple syrup and lime juice with ice, and shake for about 30 seconds. Pour over ice and squeeze in lemon, lime and orange slices.
  • For simple syrup: combine equal parts sugar and water, bring to a boil and let sugar dissolve, then turn off heat and let cool completely.
  • This recipe can be easily doubled, quadrupled, etc. Since everyone's tastes differ, add simple syrup 1/4 cup at a time and go from taste. I also suggest buying the lime juice if you plan on making a pitcher (or 2) considering you'd have to squeeze a billion limes to get enough juice.
