Steps:
- Heat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pans). Place paper baking cup in each of 24 regular-size muffin cups.
- Make cake batter as directed on box. Divide batter evenly among muffin cups, about two-thirds full. Bake 16 to 19 minutes or until cupcakes spring back when touched in center. Cool in pans 10 minutes; transfer to cooling rack to cool completely, about 30 minutes.
- Using melon baller, scoop out center of each cupcake about 1 inch deep. Fill each with about 2 teaspoons sprinkles.
- Frost cupcakes; top with about 1 tablespoon cereal per cupcake.

Steps:
- Blend butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in eggs and milk and orange zest.
- Mix 4 packets of smarties in quickly with a few strokes otherwise they will start to dye the batter.
- Gently fold in the flour.
- Divide mixture into a 12 hole muffin tray and add a few extra smarties from remaining packet on top.
- Bake for 20 minutes at 180 Celsius.
- Note that the smarties remain soft in the cupcake.
- Edited to add: These are wonderful when covered with Kitten's Buttercream icing and decorated with an assortment of lollies. The photo is of some of these cupcakes that my niece ( a chef in the making if I ever saw one) and I did for my son's birthday party a few years ago.

- preheat oven to 375 F and grease the desired cake pans.
- mix flour, baking powder and salt in a bowl. set aside.
- in a different bowl, butter with an electric mixer wile gradually adding sugar. result will be a light a fluffy mixture.
- after beating for 2 mins, add eggs one at a time.
- add vanilla.
- alternately add milk and flour mixture, add smarties and beat well.
- bake:.
- 2x9in=20-25mins.
- 2x81/2in=30-35mins.
- 1x13x9x2=25-30mins.
- cool completely and ice.
- add smarties to cake and frost as desired.

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease 12 muffin cups or line with paper liners.
- Stir flour, sugar, and baking soda together in a large bowl; make a well in the center. Add water, mayonnaise, strawberry preserves, and vanilla extract to the well and mix until batter is just blended. Spoon batter into the prepared muffin cups. Press 1 strawberry into each.
- Bake in the preheated oven until tops spring back when pressed, 20 to 25 minutes.
