Sour Cream Brownies- Thick, fudgy brownies made with creamy sour cream. Add a thick layer of chocolate frosting for the finishing touch.

3/4 cup sour cream
2 TBSP butter, melted, then, cooled
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
3 eggs
3/4 cup flour
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
Chocolate Frosting

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease an 8 x 8 baking pan.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together sour cream, melted butter. Then, add in eggs, vanilla and both sugars. Whisk until combined.
  • Add in flour and cocoa powder and mix until fully combined.
  • Spread batter into prepared pan. Bake 30-32 minutes or until they start to pull away from the edges of the pan. Let them cool completely before frosting.

They will stay fresh for four days. They can be wrapped in wax paper, sealed in a freezer-safe bag, and frozen for up to 4 months.

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
10 tablespoons unsalted butter, at room temperature
6 ounces bittersweet chocolate or 6 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped
4 ounces unsweetened chocolate, chopped
1 3/4 cups sugar
1/2 cup sour cream (regular or low-fat, but not fat-free)
3 eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla extract

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  • Whisk the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  • Melt the butter and both kinds of chocolate in a double boiler or carefully in the microwave. Allow the mixture to cool for ten minutes.
  • Beat the sugar into the melted chocolate mixture with an electric mixer for 2 minutes until smooth and silky. Add the sour cream and beat for another 2 minutes.
  • Beat the eggs in one at a time for one minute each, then beat the vanilla inches.
  • Stir in the flour mixture just until combined. Do not beat.
  • Pour the batter into the pan.
  • Bake for 35 minutes and cool for 30 minutes.

I like this recipe very much, its really moist and delicious and I think you will love it too especially for chocolate fans. I had this recipe from one of my cooking book but I think I will be regret if I just keep it to my self. So, don't wait.

125 g butter
185 g dark chocolate, chopped
1 cup caster sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla essence
2 eggs, lightly beaten
1 cup plain flour
1/2 cup chopped pecan nuts
100 g dark chocolate, chopped
1/4 cup sour cream

Steps:

  • Grease 19cm square cake pan, line base with paper, grease paper.
  • Melt butter and chocolate in a bowl over hot water.
  • Transfer mixture to large bowl, stir in sugar and essence then eggs, sifted flour and pecans.
  • pour mixture into prepared pan and bake in preheated moderate oven for 30 minutes.
  • Cool in pan.
  • Turn brownies out and top with frosting.
  • Refrigerate for a few hours before cutting.
  • Sour cream frosting.
  • Melt chocolate in bowl over hot water, stir in sour cream, stir constantly until mixture is smooth and glossy.

1/2 cup sour cream (not reduced fat)
2 large eggs
2 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/4 cup sour cream
1 1/4 cups sifted powdered sugar

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°; position oven rack in the lower third of the oven; spray the bottom only of an 8-inch square baking pan with cooking spray.
  • In a bowl, mix the brownie mix, melted butter, sour cream, and eggs with a wooden spoon until just blended and add dry ingredients are moistened.
