Homemade Spicy Pita Chips image

Super Easy Homemade Spicy Pita Chips. So much better than store bought. Only 4 ingredients and ready in less than 15 minutes!

4 pitas (cut into 8 triangles)
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp paprika
1/4 tsp cayenne, (or more if you like it really spicy!)
1/2 tsp salt

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Add pitas to a baking sheet and drizzle with olive oil. Sprinkle with seasonings and toss to coat the pita chips.
  • Cook for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown, flipping halfway. Take out of the oven and let the chips cool on the pan. Serve with your favorite dips and salsas! Store leftover chips at room temperature in an airtight container.

  • Cut each pita bread into 8 triangles. Place triangles on lined cookie sheet.

They take barely any time to prepare and go great with spinach artichoke dip! Add Italian seasoning, herbs, or Parmesan cheese for a twist!

1 teaspoon kosher salt

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Brush one side of each piece pita pocket with olive oil. Sprinkle the garlic powder, salt, and garlic salt over the pita pockets. Slice each pocket into 4 even triangles.

4 avocados, ripe
3 garlic cloves, crushed
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon tequila
1 tablespoon hot pepper sauce
salt, to your taste
pepper, to your taste
1 large tomatoes, diced
1/2 red onion, diced
6 pieces whole wheat pita bread
1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon sesame seeds
1 tablespoon fresh oregano, finely chopped (you can use dried)

Steps:

  • In a food processor, blend the avocados, garlic, lemon juice, tequila and hot pepper sauce until smooth.
  • Season with salt and pepper, to your taste.
  • Mix in chopped tomato, onion and garlic powder. Cover tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate until needed.
  • Pita Chips
  • Cut pita circles into small triangles, then separate the bread.
  • Arrange pita triangles on a large baking dish and sprinkle with black pepper, garlic powder, oregano and sesame seeds.
  • Drizzle a small amount of olive oil all over the pita triangles.
  • Bake at 350' until lightly golden and crispy.
  • Store uncovered until needed. Serve with the guacamole.
