Steps:
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees fahrenheit.
- Cube the steak and the potatoes.
- Place steak and potatoes into large mixing bowl.
- Season with salt, pepper, garlic, and onion to taste. I use about a pinch of everything.
- Pour in balsamic vinagerette.
- Stir everything together and then put into baking dish.
- Use a baking dish that is large enough that the salad dressing covers the steak and potatoes completely. Otherwise the steak on top will come out hard and the potatoes will not be cooked all the way through.
- Cook for 1 and 1/2 hours.

- Cook potatoes and green beans: Place potatoes and green beans on the baking sheet, drizzle with olive oil and season with salt, pepper, garlic, garlic powder and Italian seasoning. Toss to combine (separate into potatoes and beans if you prefer), then roast in the hot oven for 20 minutes. Remove from the oven, toss, then push aside to make space for the steaks.
- Add steaks: Heat oven on broil. Season the steaks with salt and pepper and place on the baking sheet (careful, hot!)
- Cook steaks: Place the baking sheet back in the oven and broil until the steak is done to your liking, flipping once. I do about 3-5 minutes per side for medium-rare (depending on the exact size of your steaks), or until desired doneness.

- Place the sliced potatoes in a pot of boiling, salted water and cook for 5 minutes. Drain immediately and place in a large bowl. Allow to sit until cool enough to handle, about 10 minutes.
- Prep the steak: Cut the steak into pieces (2.5 - 3 inches for well done, 3 - 4 inches for medium, 5 inches for rarer steak). Marinate it if you like.
- On the grill/fire: On a HOT grill, cook the foil packets for 8-10 minutes per side, or until the potatoes are tender (exact grilling time can vary depending on type of foil used, exact oven temperature, size of steak, etc.! I recommend an oven thermometer to check on the steak after about 10 minutes to gauge how much longer it will need!)If you’re cooking the packets on a fire without a grilling rack, place them on a 2-inch bed of coal.
