SUGAR AND SPICE SNACK

Steps:

• Heat oven to 300°F. Spray with cooking spray or grease 15x10x1-inch pan.
• In very large bowl, mix cereals, corn snacks and peanuts. In small bowl, beat egg whites, orange juice, sugar and cinnamon with wire whisk or hand beater until foamy. Pour over cereal mixture, stirring until evenly coated. Spread in pan.
• Bake 45 to 50 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes, until light brown and crisp. Cool completely, about 1 hour. Store in airtight container.

SUGAR 'N SPICE SNACK

Steps:

• Heat oven to 300°F. Grease 15x10x1-inch pan with shortening or cooking spray.
• In large bowl, mix cereals, corn snacks and peanuts. In small bowl, beat egg whites, orange juice, sugar and cinnamon with wire whisk or hand beater until foamy. Pour over cereal mixture, stirring until evenly coated. Spread in pan.
• Bake 45 to 50 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes, until light brown and crisp. Cool completely, about 15 minutes. Store in airtight container.

SUGAR 'N SPICE SNACK MIX

Steps:

• Preheat oven to 325°F. Mix crackers, pretzels, raisins and pecans in large bowl; set aside. Beat egg white, water and lemon zest in small bowl with wire whisk until well blended. Drizzle evenly over crackers mixture; toss to coat. Sprinkle with combined sugar and cinnamon; mix lightly.
• Spread in single layer in greased foil-lined 15x10x1-inch baking pan.
• Bake 20 min., stirring occasionally. Cool completely. Store in tightly covered container at room temperature.

SUGAR-AND-SPICE NUTS

Steps:

• Preheat oven to 325F degrees.
• Grease a baking sheet and set aside.
• Beat egg white in a large bowl with a fork or whisk until foamy.
• Stir in two cups of unsalted nuts until coated (amounts listed are my favourites, but any combination can be used, as can other nuts such as peanuts or walnuts).
• Stir in sugar and spices; toss with nuts until coated.
• Put nuts onto prepared baking sheet.
• Spread out well.
• Bake, stirring often, until golden-- about 20-25 minutes .
• Cool completely.
• Store in an airtight container.

SUGAR-AND-SPICE CANDIED NUTS

Steps:

• Put oven rack in middle position and preheat oven to 350°F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly butter parchment.
• Stir together butter, sugar, corn syrup, spices, and salt in a 1 1/2- to 2-quart heavy saucepan and bring to a boil over high heat. Add nuts and cook, stirring constantly, 3 minutes. Spread nuts in 1 layer on lined baking sheet, separating any clumps. Bake, stirring nuts once with a heatproof rubber (silicone) spatula halfway through baking (keep nuts in 1 layer), until golden and bubbling, 12 to 15 minutes. Cool on baking sheet on a rack 45 minutes, then break into small clusters with your hands.

SUGAR AND SPICE HOT CHOCOLATE

Steps:

• Pour milk in a pan.
• Sprinkle apple spice onto milk.
• Break or chop chocolate into pieces and add to milk.
• Add enough sugar to sweeten to your taste.
• Heat mixture over low heat until milk just boiling stirring all the time.
• Place 1 cinnamon stick into each of 2 cups.
• Pour hot chocolate into cups.
• top with whipped cream.
• serve immediately.
