Texas Iced Tea Recipes

CLASSIC TEXAS TEA

Steps:

• For the sour mix: Stir together the lemon juice and Simple Syrup in a glass.
• For the Texas tea: Fill a Collins glass with ice. Pour in the vodka, gin, rum, tequila, whiskey, triple sec and 1 ounce of the sour mix. Top off with a splash of cola. Stir once with a bar spoon and serve. No garnish needed.
• Put the sugar and water in a small saucepan. Cook over low heat, stirring, until the sugar dissolves. (Alternatively, heat in the microwave.) Store in a sealed container in the refrigerator.

TEXAS ICED TEA RECIPE

Steps:

• Mix the tequila and iced tea, build over ice, then stir.
• Serve cold in a highball glass, and enjoy!

TEXAS TEA

Steps:

• Fill mixing glass with ice.
• Add tequila, vodka, rum triple sec and sour mix.
• Shake.
• Pour into a Collins glass.
• Add more ice, if necessary.
• Top with cola.
• Garnish with a lemon slice.

PERFECT ICED TEA

Steps:

• Hot-Brewed:
• Bring 8 cups water to a simmer; remove from the heat and add 3 tablespoons loose tea or 6 tea bags. Let steep about 4 minutes, until it's the strength you like. Strain loose tea with a fine-mesh sieve or remove the tea bags. Let cool, then transfer to a pitcher, cover and refrigerate.
• Cold-Brewed:
• Combine 8 cups cold water and 6 tablespoons loose tea or 10 tea bags in a pitcher. Cover and refrigerate 15 to 36 hours, until it's the strength you like. Strain loose tea with a fine-mesh sieve or remove the tea bags.
• Sweet Teas:
• Combine 3/4 cup each sugar and water in a saucepan and add 1 infuser, if desired. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves, then remove from the heat and let cool. Strain the infused syrup through a fine-mesh sieve (you'll get about 1 cup).
• Orange Add 6 strips zest
• Blackberries 1 cup
• Cinnamon 2 sticks
• Lavender 3 tablespoons dried
• Vanilla 1 halved bean
• Mint 3 sprigs
• Ginger 1 cup sliced
• Lemon 8 strips zest
• Nectarine 1 cup chopped
• Cucumber 2 cups chopped

TEXAS TEA

Steps:

• In a pitcher, combine the first 7 ingredients; serve over ice. Garnish each individual serving with a slice of lemon or lime.

BIG KEV'S TEXAS STYLE LONG ISLAND ICED TEA

Steps:

• Pour vodka, gin, triple sec, rum, and tequila into a tall glass with ice. Top off with cola. Stir gently. Garnish with lemon and lime wedges.

TEXAS TEA III

Steps:

• In a tall glass filled with ice, combine vodka, rum, tequila and triple sec. Top with equal parts sweet-and-sour and cola. Squeeze juice of lemon wedge and lime wedge over top; stir.

SOUTHERN SWEET ICED TEA

Steps:

• In a large glass measuring cup, place the tea bags and add the baking soda.
• Pour the boiling water over the tea bags.
• Cover and steep for 15 minutes.
• Take out the tea bags and do not squeeze them.
• Pour the tea mixture into a 2-quart pitcher; add the sugar.
• Stir until the sugar is dissolved.
• Add in the cold water.
• Let cool; chill in the refrigerator and serve over ice.
