The Real Original Chex Mix Recipes

THE ORIGINAL CHEX PARTY MIX

Steps:

• Heat oven to 250 degrees.
• Melt butter in large roasting pan in oven. Stir in seasonings. Gradually stir in remaining ingredients until evenly coated.
• Bake 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Spread on paper towels to cool. Store in airtight container.

ORIGINAL CHEX MIX

Steps:

• Preheat oven to 250°F.
• Heat Butter in large 8-quart pot until melted and add seasoning salt and Worcestershire sauce and set aside.
• In large bowl, measure all 3 cereals, nuts, and pretzels and mix together.
• Add dry ingredients to butter mixture and stir until evenly coated.
• Place mixture in a large pan (I usually use my roasting pan) and bake for 1 hour, stirring approximately every 15 minutes.

Steps:

• Take out the extra rack in your oven if you have one, and put the remaining rack on the bottom or next to the bottom level. Preheat oven to 225°F | 110°C.
• In a large paper grocery bag, mix cereals, pretzels and nuts together and set aside.
• In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and oil together, and then blend in Worcestershire Sauce, Liquid Smoke, and hot sauce. Slowly pour over mixture in the bag, shaking as you do to cover everything. Sprinkle seasoned salt over everything, shut the top of the bag, and shake the heck out of it.

REAL ORIGINAL CHEX PARTY SNACK MIX

Steps:

• Gather the ingredients. Preheat the oven to 275 F.
• Melt the margarine or butter in a shallow pan over low heat. Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, seasoned salt, and garlic salt.
• Combine the Wheat Chex, Rice Chex, nuts, and pretzel rods in a large bowl and drizzle with half of the butter mixture. Carefully mix with a wooden spoon to avoid breaking the pretzels and cereal squares. Repeat with the remaining butter mixture, evenly coating all the pieces.
• Place the mix in a shallow baking pan with sides. Bake for 25 to 40 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes to evenly toast the mixture.
• Cool for at least 15 minutes and enjoy.

THE REAL ORIGINAL CHEX MIX RECIPE

Steps:

• Prep Time: 5 minutes Cook Time: 40 minutes Total Time: 45 minutes Or: Microwave on High for 5 minutes, then stir to mix and repeat three times for a total of four times in the microwave. Preparation: Preheat oven to 275 degrees F. Melt butter in a shallow pan. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, seasoned salt, and garlic salt (not garlic powder). Add Wheat Chex, Rice Chex, nuts (peanuts, pecans or cashews), and pretzel rods. Mix until all pieces are coated with the butter mixture. Place on a shallow baking pan with sides. Bake for 40 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes. Cool...enjoy!

THE ORIGINAL CHEX® PARTY MIX (1/2 RECIPE)

Steps:

• In large microwavable bowl, microwave butter uncovered on High about 30 seconds or until melted. Stir in seasonings. Gradually stir in remaining ingredients until evenly coated.
• Microwave uncovered on High 4 to 5 minutes, thoroughly stirring every 2 minutes. Spread on paper towels to cool, about 5 minutes. Store in airtight container.

ORIGINAL CHEX® PARTY MIX

Steps:

• In large microwavable bowl, mix cereals, nuts, pretzels and bagel chips; set aside. In small microwavable bowl, microwave butter uncovered on High about 40 seconds or until melted. Stir in seasonings. Pour over cereal mixture; stir until evenly coated.
• Microwave uncovered on High 5 to 6 minutes, thoroughly stirring every 2 minutes. Spread on paper towels to cool. Store in airtight container.
